There was no change in the test pattern or structure from last year. Candidates who appeared for the exam on January 25, 2026 had to download provisional CMAT answer key 2026 PDF between January 31 and February 2. The NTA will allow each CMAT test-taker to challenge the answer key, if they are unsatisfied with the official answer/s. Upon submission of the objections, the exam authorities will examine them and if any objection is found to be valid, they official answer key will be revised. Given below are step of filling up the online application form for challenging CMAT answer key:
- Log on to the official NTA-CMAT website
- Click on CMAT Answer Key/Objection tab
- Enter your CMAT Application Number and Date of Birth Enter Security Pin and Submit
- All 100 questions for CMAT Paper IDs will appear in sequential order.
- To challenge a question, use the option IDs given against it by clicking the check box.
- Click on Save your Claim and move to next screen.
- All option IDs challenged will be displayed.
- Now, select Choose File option and upload supporting documents in a single pdf file.
- Click on Save your Claim Finally.
- Click on fee payment option - Click here to Pay Fee and pay INR 200 per question through Debit/Credit Card/Net Banking.
CMAT answer key is released 3-7 days after the exam. The exact date of CMAT exam answer key release is shared by the NTA in after the exam has been conducted. After the release of CMAT answer key, candidates can assess their performance, by tallying their responses and official answers. They can also challenge the official CMAT answer key, by filling an online form and uploading supporting documents. The NTA-CMAT will examine the objections to see if they are genuine or not. In case, the ojection/s are found to be valid, the CMAT answer key is revised and released as the final answer key. The CMAT result is prepared only after examination of all te objections received from candidates.
With the help of official CMAT answer key and response sheet, the candidate can calculate their exam score which will give them an idea of how much percentile will they actually get. This in turn will help them in making decisions related to MBA Admission like which colleges to apply to, whether to reappear for CMAT or whether to opt of remaining entrance exams for current session. The CMAT result is released almost a month after the exam so with the help of answer key, candidates can take early decision.
After CMAT result has been declared, colleges accepting the exam score for MBA/PGDM admission will start the selection process. CMAT qualifying students will be required to fill the application forms of their target MBA colleges for admission. Colleges will select students on the basis of CMAT cut offs, and then will conduct GD/PI round for final selection.

To get a seat at IFMR Chennai, students have to first appear for any one of the entrance exams accepted by the institute for the MBA/PGDM course admission. CAT, XAT, NMAT, CMAT, Andhra Pradesh ICET, IPAMT and SAT India are the entrance exams accepted by this institute for admission to the management

To get a seat in the FLAME University of the MBA/PGDM course, you have to appear for any one of the accepted exams, like CAT, XAT, CMAT, etc. After clearing the exam, you have to get shortlisted for further admission round, which involves PI or GD.

Three months may not be enough for CMAT preparation, if you're doing it from scratch. However, if you are preparing for CAT, XAT, NMAT, you can prepare for CMAT in 3 months as you have clear understanding of the syllabus already and you will need exam specific practice only.
