CEETA PG 2025 Admissions: Counselling Dates (OUT), Check eligibility, process, documents required here

The TANCET examination is conducted to offer admission to postgraduate business programs, such as MBA and computer application programs, such as MCA. Qualifying candidates can apply at participating institutions in Tamil Nadu. On the other hand, CEETA PG is a postgraduate entrance examination conducted to offer admissions to postgraduate engineering, architecture, and planning programs, such as M.Tech, M.Arch, and M.Plan.

CEETA PG stands for Common Engineering Entrance Test for Admission Postgraduate, a competitive examination for admission to ME, MTech, MArch, and MPlan programmes. Until 2022, the admissions were based on TANCET. From 2023, the admissions for ME, MTech, MArch, and MPlan programmes in Anna University, Annamalai University and other government colleges in Tamil Nadu are based on CEETA PG score.   

Candidates, after qualifying for CEETA PG, can get admission in the following universities and institutes -

• University Departments of Anna University, Chennai-25, Anna University Regional Campuses and University Colleges of Engineering. 

• Annamalai University and 

• Government & Government Aided Engineering Colleges 

• Technical Institutions funded by the Central Government affiliated with Anna University

• Candidates can also apply to the self-financing engineering colleges

The CEETA PG examination is conducted once a year. The mode of the entrance examination is online. Candidates registered for the examination can appear for the CEETA PG entrance test.

The CEETA PG counselling will be conducted online for the qualified candidates in CEETA PG. During the counselling process, candidates must register, upload the required documents, and pay the requisite fee amount. Shortlisted candidates will be allotted seats in the colleges that are under CEAP.

Candidates who have appeared and qualified for CEETA PG exam will be eligible for the CEETA PG counselling. These candidates need not apply for CEAP. Their admissions will be done through CEETA PG category, based on the scores obtained. Eligible candidates must register to participate in the counselling. 

Anna University announced the CEETA PG 2025 result date on the website. The CEETA PG result was declared on April 25. Candidates who have appeared the CEETA PG exam on March 23 can check their results on the official website. The authorities have also released the CEETA PG rank list on the website. Candidates can check their CEETA PG rank list using their application number, name, date of birth and email ID.

Hold a bachelor's degree in the relevant field with min 50% (General) or 45% (Reserved) 

• BE/BTech/BArch  
• Master's in relevant Science/Arts  
• BPharm  

• 10+2+AMIE (2 years experience) 
• 10+3-year diploma+AMIE (2 years experience) 

Final year students of 2023-2024 academic year eligible.  Candidates from other states may be eligible subject to conditions set by admitting authority/university.  

To be eligible for CEETA PG (M.Arch) programs, candidates must have a bachelor's degree in architecture (B.Arch) with a minimum qualifying mark of 50% (for the general category) and 45% for the reserved category from a recognised university or institute. Besides that, candidates qualified as AIIA (Associateship Examination of the Indian Institute of Architects) with valid registration with the Council of Architecture are also eligible for CEETA PG admission.

Candidates applying for the CEETA PG must pay the application fees during the registration process. The accepted payment mode is net banking/credit card/debit card. The fees for the CEETA PG 2025 application form is as follows -

• For SC/ST/SCA of Tamil Nadu - INR 900 + GST on counselling fee of INR 400/-
• For other applicants - INR 1800 +  GST on the counselling fee of INR 800/-

The mode of the CEETA PG application form is online. Candidates who meet the eligibility criteria can fill out the details and submit the form before the deadline. The application process of CEETA PG consists of the registration process, followed by the uploading of documents and payment of application fees.

If lost, a duplicate can be obtained by paying 300/- through a Demand Draft, with a written request to The Secretary (TANCET/CEETA-PG), Anna University, Chennai – 600 025 indicating the Registration No. / Application number and Examination Centre. The CEETA hall ticket will be made available a few days before the exam date. 

Candidates can carry any of the following items along with the CEETA PG admit card -

Aadhaar card/Voter ID/PAN card/Passport, etc.  Candidates must make sure that they carry only the valid ID which they have mentioned while filling the CEETA PG application form. 

The steps to download the CEETA PG 2025 admit card is as follows -

• Visit the official website of the CEETA - tancet.annauniv.edu
• Click on the admit card link available on the homepage
• Enter youse user ID and password
• The CEETA PG admit card will be displayed on the screen.
• Check all the details and download the hall ticket. 

CEETA PG is a state-level entrance test conducted to offer MTech programmes in various disciplines. The time duration to attempt CEETA PG exam is two hours. For each correct response 1 mark is awarded and there is a negative marking of 1/3 mark for every incorrect answer.

There is negative marking in CEETA PG. For incorrect answers, the candidates will lose 1/3 mark. Marks will not be deducted for the questions left unanswered. Multiple shading will be considered as a wrong answer and a 1/3 mark will be reduced. Hence, candidates have to be very carefull while marking their answers. Since, CEETA PG has negative marking, students are advised to avoid guesswork and only answer the questions they are confident about.

The exam duration of CEETA PG is two hours. The exam is conducted offline (OMR sheet). Candidates appearing for CEETA, must report to the centre one hour before the commencement of the examination. Answer sheet will be provided there itself.

The syllabus for CEETA PG typically covers subjects such as Engineering Mathematics, Basic Engineering & Sciences and topics from the field candidates have studied in the undergraduate programme. The detailed syllabus of CEET PG is updated on the official website. The candidates must check the complete syllabus before they start with the preparation.   

To prepare for CEETA PG exam, candidates must go through the syllabus and pattern first. Then study relevant textbooks and solve CEETA PG old question paper to understand the difficulty level. Create revision notes and take most tests to get acquainted with the exam pattern. 

Candidates can check the test centre details on the official website. The details regarding the CEETA PG test center will also be mentioned on the CEETA PG admit card 2025. Anna University will release the CEETA PG hall ticket on March 8, 2025. Candidates can download the admit card by using their email ID and password. 

No, only a hard copy of the CEETA PG admit card is accepted for entering the exam hall. Candidates must carry all the items mentioned in the hall ticket. Candidates are advised to go through admit card and exam day instructions carefully. 

Anna University conducts the Common Engineering Entrance Test and Admissions (CEETA PG) on behalf of the Tamil Nadu State Government. CEETA PG state-level entrance examination offers admission to postgraduate degrees, such as M.Tech, M.Arch, M.Plan, and M.E. The exam is conducted once a year. 

The CEETA PG exam is expected to take place in fourth week of March. CEETA is an offline entrance test with two hours time duration. Candidates will have to attempt questions from engineering mathematics, basic engineering, and science and discipline-based.
