NEET PG 2026: Mistakes You Must Avoid On The Exam Day

Not taking adequate rest

Students often feel that a quick revision on the previous night will help them score better and end up reaching the examination hall sleep-deprived. To stay sharp during the examination it is important that your body gets adequate rest. Revision is important but so is rest. Get adequate rest on the previous night and plan your revisions accordingly.

Not packing things a day in advance

Not packing the things/ documents that you need to carry with you to the NEET PG exam centre in advance is the most common exam day mistake. If you don’t pack a day in advance, you might end up forgetting something in a haste. For example, a candidate who packs in advance will ensure that he/ she keeps all the documents, such as, NEET PG admit card, registration certificate and Id proof.

Not reading the instructions printed on the admit card

The authorities and security personnel present at the exam centre of NEET PG 2026 are very strict in abiding by the rules. Hence, if you forget or ignore any of the instructions printed on the NEET PG admit card you might end up standing outside the exam hall, arguing with the security personnel, asking them to let you in.

Fasting or eating too much

Both these extremes can cause problems for you on exam day. Not eating will leave you drained and you may not be able to think straight during the examination. Similarly, eating too much can cause you to feel lethargic and slow down your brain. It is advised that you have a light meal before the examination, small portions yet filling.

Not reaching the exam centre on time

The reporting time for NEET PG is 7:00 am and the last entry permitted into the examination hall will be at 8:30 am. Candidates who reach the exam hall past 8:30 am will not be allowed to appear for the examination. Try reaching the exam hall before the reporting time. Take into the traffic and also keep in mind that the exam centre will be crowded during these hours. The exam will commence at 9 am and conclude at 12:30 pm.

Losing patience while attempting question paper

Students should maintain their cool while answering questions in NEET PG exam. They are advised to attempt easy questions first followed by difficult ones and so.

Trying to leave the exam hall before time

If you complete the examination before the allocated time, do not be in a hurry to leave the examination hall. Not rechecking the answers marked in the answer sheet may result in scoring a few extra negatives in the examination. Utilise the time left and go through all the answers once again.
