
National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences has released the FMGE October 2026 information bulletin on September 11, 2026. The board has announced an additional FMGE 2026 exam. It will be conducted on October 31, 2026. As per the latest notice, NBEMS will conduct the FMGE three times a year instead of twice a year. FMGE October 2026 exam will be conducted in Computer Based Test mode at various exam centres in India.
FMGE October 2026 registration has begun on September 11. Candidates can fill out the application form till 1:55 PM on September 25, 2026.
FMGE exam date was January 9, 2027, earlier. NBEMS has decided to reschedule January 2027 exam. It will be conducted on a later date in January or February 2027. The revised date will be announced separately.

What is FMGE Exam?
Foreign Medical Graduate Examination was introduced under the Screening Test Regulations, 2002. It is a screening exam conducted by National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences. This exam is for candidates with an MBBS or an equivalent medical degree from a foreign country. They are required to qualify for the FMGE. They should obtain the FMGE certificate. The certificate is an important requirement for getting registered to practise medicine in India, as applicable under prevailing regulations.

According to the previous year FMGE result statistics, the number of candidates who qualify and secure the FMGE certificates every session is between 20 - 30 %.
