SSC CHSL Tier 1 Exam Analysis (March 10)

The SSC CHSL Tier 1 exam was started on March 9, 2023. The last exam will be conducted on March 21, 2023. Today is the second day of the SSC CHSL Tier 1 exam 2022-23. The Tier 2 includes Session I and Session II. The Tier 2 Session I includes Section I, Section II and Modules I of Section III and Session II includes Modules II of Section III. Tier 2 comprises 135 questions carrying the weightage of 3 marks each.

SSC CHSL Tier 1 Exam Analysis (March 10): Overall Difficulty level and Good Attempts

As per the feedback shared by the candidates, the SSC CHSL Tier 1 exam (Shift 1) held on March 10, 2023, was easy. Some felt easy to moderate. The overall number of good attempts in the Shift 1 SSC CHSL exam was 68-75. Questions asked in quantitative aptitude were from trigonometry, compound interest, simple interest, average, speed, etc. Some students felt that reasoning and general awareness were a bit difficult. Most of the questions asked in reasoning came from syllogisms and arrangements.

As per the students response, SSC CHSL Tier 1 exam analysis of Shift 3 is being provided here held on March 10, 2023. The overall difficulty level of the exam was easy to moderate. Some of the questions in current affairs were asked from September 2022. Some candidates said that the vocabulary section was a bit difficult and the cloze test was tricky. The reasoning section was easy, and the majority of questions were direct. Overall, the paper was based on previous year's question papers.

Q:   What is SSC CHSL marking scheme?
A:
SSC CHSL marking scheme is prescribed by the examination authority, Staff Selection Commission (SSC). The CHSL marking scheme is different for each exam stage- Tier 1, Tier 2 and Tier 3. The scores of candidates are calculated as per the marking scheme. SSC CHSL marking scheme is given below: Candidates are awarded +2 marks for each correct answer. For each incorrect answer, 0.5 marks are deducted as a negative marking in objective paper. There is no negative marking for the descriptive paper. If a question is left blank, there is no penalty.
Q:   Has the exam pattern for the SSC CHSL 2025 been changed?
A:

No, the SSC CHSL 2025 exam pattern has not been changed. Earlier, the Commission changed the exam pattern for the SSC CHSL exam in 2022 to expedite the recruitment process. SSC CHSL exam is now be conducted in two tiers as mentioned below: Tier 1 and Tier 2. The Tier 1 Examination consists of Objective Type, Multiple choice questions only. The questions are set in English and Hindi. There is negative marking of 0.50 marks for each wrong answer. The SSC CHSL Tier 2 Examination is conducted in two sessions - Session I and Session II, on same day. Session-I will include conducting of Section-I, Section-II and Module I of Section III. Session II will include conducting of Module-II of Section III. Also, it is mandatory for the candidates to qualify all the sections of Tier 2. The Tier 2 consists of Objective Type, Multiple choice questions, except for Module-II of Section III. The questions are set in English and Hindi except for Module II (I. e. English Language and Comprehension module) in Section II. There is negative marking of 1 mark for each wrong answer in Section I, Section II and Module I of Section III of the Tier 2 exam.

A:

Yes, there is a negative marking in the SSC CHSL exam for wrong answers. In SSC CHSL Tier 1 exam, there is a negative marking of 0.50 marks for each wrong answers. In SSC CHSL Tier 2, there is a negative marking of 1 mark for each wrong answer in Section-I, Section II and Modules-I of Section III. Candidates are, therefore, advise to mark their answers with high accuracy in the SSC CHSL examination.

Yes, the exam is postponed. The Commission will conduct the SSC CHSL Tier 1 exam in October-November 2025. The exam will start in the fourth week of October.
