A: 

RRB NTPC cut off is calculated based on the normalised scores. This process is followed to adjust the difficulty level of questions since the exam is conducted in multiple sessions. The scores are normalised using the equi-percentile method. For eg: If the negative marking is 1/3 and candidates have answered 80 questions, out of which 12 were wrong, then the raw score will be 80-12-12 * (1/3) = 64. Therefore, 64 is the raw score.

According to RRB NTPC paper analysis 2025, the overall difficulty level of the exam held on June 5 was moderate to difficult. Students observed a few changes in the question paper pattern. This year, the maximum questions in the General Awareness section were asked from Computers. The General Awareness section carried questions from topics such as Women premiere league, Percentage of GDP on research and development, the Relation of Geographical features, etc. The GK section was difficult compared to other sections.

Saraswat said, "The Reasoning questions were easy. The maximum questions was asked from Puzzles & Seating Arrangement. The General Awareness questions were asked from the recent events, such as WPL, GDP index, etc. In Maths, questions were asked from Average, Profit Loss, etc.

Loknath Pal, "Current Affairs questions were asked from the events that took in 2024-2025. In Reasoning, questions were asked from Seating Arrangement, Puzzles, etc. In Maths, questions were asked on Ratio & Proportion, Time & Distance, Speed, etc."

RRB NTPC CBT 1 Exam Pattern 2025

RRB NTPC CBT 1 comprises questions from General Awareness, Mathematics, and General Intelligence and Reasoning. The test paper carries a total of 100 questions. The total marks allotted to the test are 100. The duration of the test is 90 minutes (120 minutes for PwBD candidates accompanied by scribe). The standard of questions in the CBT 1 is for Class 10, 12, and Graduation levels. There are negative marks for wrong answers in the exam. 1/3 marks are deducted as a penalty for wrong answers. There are also qualifying marks in the exam. This stage is qualifying in nature. The structure of RRB NTPC CBT 1 exam pattern is given below.

RRB NTPC Exam Day Guidelines 2025

The exam day guidelines related to RRB NTPC 2025 exam are given below:

  • Candidates must carry the printed copy of their admit cards along with one photo-identity proof to the exam centre
  • Banned items are electronic gadgets such as mobile phones, pager, watches, Bluetooth, calculator, metallic wears, bangles, belts, bracelets, books, papers, etc are not allowed inside the exam centre
  • Candidates should not carry pen/pencil inside the test centre
  • Pen will be provided during the exam
  • Candidates can view question papers in the language opted by them at the time of filling the RRB NTPC application form and in English Language
  • During the exam, additional biometric LTI, photograph capture and attendance, including physical LTI and signature of the candidates, will be taken and no extra time will be given as this is a part of the exam process

The RRB NTPC 2026 Graduate posts difficulty level in general is considered a Moderate. The CBT 1 is basically Easy to Moderate where as CBT 2 is Moderate to Tough due to the level of the questions asked which are advanced and analytical.
