Special OTET 2025

Special Odisha Teacher Eligibility Test (SOTET) 2025 is a state-level exam conducted by the Board of Secondary Education (BSE), Odisha, for in-service teachers. The Special OTET exam is conducted to determine the eligibility of candidates who are in-service teachers as Classes 1 to 8 teachers in any recognised schools approved by the Odisha Government. The Special OTET exam comprises two papers- Paper 1 and Paper 2. The SOTET Paper 1 is for Classes 1 to 5 in-service teacher candidates and Paper 2 is for Classes 6 to 8 in-service teacher candidates. The Special OTET 2025 notification was released by the BSE Odisha on May 9, 2025.

The BSE Odisha released the result of the Special OTET 2025 exam on November 15, 2025. Candidates can check and download the Special OTET scorecard PDF using the direct link below. The SOTET OMR Sheetis available for download at bseodisha.ac.in till November 22, 2025. Qualified candidates can download OTET eligibility certificate till January 15, 2026.The OTET answer key was released on October 10, 2025.The SOTET exam was held on September 27, 2025. The Special OTET admit card 2025 was released on September 17, 2025.

Special OTET Application Form 2025

Candidates need to follow the given steps to fill out the SOTET application form 2025:

• Visit the official website- bseodisha.ac.in.
• Click on the ‘Application Form for Special Odisha Teacher Eligibility Test (SOTET) 2025’ link
• Click on the Login link under Paper 1 or Paper 2 or both papers.
• Click on the new registration link.
• Enter the required details and complete the SOTET registration process.
• Now, log in using your mobile number and password.
• Fill out the Special OTET application form.
• Pay the application fees.
• Submit and save the confirmation page.

SOTET Application Fee 2025

Candidates need to pay the SOTET application fee 2025 through online mode. The exam fees are as follows:

• General/ OBC/ SEBC Category: INR 900 (INR 1400 for both papers)
• SC/ST Category: INR 600 (INR 900 for both papers)

Special OTET Applicability 2025

As per the official notification, the Special OTET 2025 applies to:

• In-service teachers who possess the academic and training qualifications with the required percentage of marks.
• In-service teachers pursuing the final year of the teacher training courses before the date of publication of the Special OTET 2025 notification, that is, August 4, 2025.

Special OTET Eligibility Criteria 2025

The BSE Odisha has laid down the detailed Special OTET eligibility criteria 2025 for Paper 1 and Paper 2. The basic Special OTET eligibility criterion is that a candidate must be an in-service teacher working in any recognised school approved by the Odisha Government. Have a look at the SOTET eligibility 2025 below in terms of educational qualifications for Paper 1 and 2:

Special OTET Eligibility 2025 for Paper 1: Educational Qualifications

In-service teacher candidates who want to appear for SOTET Paper 1 need to possess any of one education qualifications:

• Higher Secondary with at least 50% marks and a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (CT or DElEd). OR
• Higher Secondary with at least 45% marks and 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education. OR
• Higher Secondary with at least 50% marks and 4-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (BElEd). OR
• Higher Secondary with at least 50% marks and 2-year Diploma in Education (Special Education). OR
• Graduation and 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education. OR
• Graduation with at least 50% marks and Bachelor of Education (BEd) provided the candidate mandatorily needs to undergo a six-month Bridge Course in Elementary Education recognised by the NCTE, within two years of appointment.

Special OTET Eligibility 2025 for Paper 2: Educational Qualifications

In-service teacher candidates who want to appear for SOTET Paper 2 need to possess any of one education qualifications:

• Graduation and 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education. OR
• Graduation with at least 50% marks and 1 year Bachelor in Education (BEd). OR
• Graduation with at least 45% marks and 1 year Bachelor in Education (BEd). OR
• Higher Secondary with at least 50% marks and 4-year Bachelor in Elementary Education (BElEd). OR
• Higher Secondary with at least 50% marks and 4 years BA/ BSc, Ed or BA Ed/ BSc Ed. OR
• Graduation with at least 50% marks and 1 year BEd (Special Education).

Note: Relaxation of 5% marks in minimum qualifying marks in Higher Secondary or Graduation level will be allowed to the candidates belonging to SC, ST, SEBC & PWD category.

Special OTET Exam Pattern 2025

The Special OTET exam pattern 2025 has been prescribed by the BSE Odisha for Paper 1 and Paper 2. Here are the highlights of the SOTET exam pattern 2025:

• There will be two Special OTET papers- Paper 1 and Paper 2.
• The total duration of the exam for each paper will be 2 hours and 30 minutes.
• All questions will be multiple-choice questions (MCQ).
• Each question carries one mark.
• There is no negative marking in the exam.

Special OTET Syllabus 2025

As per the official statement, the OTET syllabus 2025 for Paper 1 and Paper 2 is applicable for the Special OTET syllabus 2025. Here are the highlights of the Special OTET syllabus for Paper 1 and Paper 2:

• The questions in the Special OTET Paper 1 will be based on the topics of the prescribed syllabus for Classes 1 to 5 but their difficulty level could be up to the secondary stage.
• The questions in the Special OTET Paper 2 will be based on the topics of the prescribed syllabus for Classes 6 to 8 but their difficulty level could be up to the senior secondary/ higher secondary stage.
