UGC NET English Exam Analysis (Dec 6)

The National Testing Agency (NTA) successfully conducted the UGC NET exam for English on December 6, 2023. The exam was conducted in one shift 9 am to 12 pm. The overall difficulty level of the paper was moderate as compared to the previous year. Paper 2 comprised questions from the Victorian, Romantic, and Elizabethan Age from the British literature whereas the questions from the Indian literature were from the Post Modernism. On the other hand, Paper 1 was easy. It comprised questions from ICT, teaching aptitude, reasoning, and maths.

University Grants Commission National Eligibility Test (UGC NET) or NTA UGC NET is a national-level exam conducted to determine the eligibility of candidates for only Assistant Professor or both Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) and Assistant Professor posts in Indian universities and colleges. The UGC NET 2023 exam will be held for a total of 83 subjects. Until 2021, the NTA UGC NET exam was conducted for 83 subjects.

UGC NET Exam Analysis: English (Shift 1) 

The UGC NET exam for shift 1 got over at 12:00 pm for English. Shiksha visited one of the exam centres in Delhi and took the review of students who had taken the exam. According to their reviews, the difficulty level of Paper 1 was moderate. On the other hand, paper 2 was easy in comparison to the previous cycle. The cultural studies was dominant in Paper 2 whereas the  6 to 7 timeline questions were asked related to authors, books, birth year, etc. The difficulty level of cultural studies was above average as compared to the previous year.

No. A candidate will not receive the UGC NET City Intimation Slip by post. The authority will release the City slip on the official website at ugcnet.nta.nic.in. Candidates required their login credentials to download the city slip including the application number and date of birth.

Yes. It is important for a candidate to carry the UGC NET admit card to the examination centre. Without it, candidate will not be allowed to sit in the exam. It consists of the details like name of a candidate, photograph, shift, reporting time, exam day instructions, etc.
