Q: You have scored more than 747.23 marks out of 800. Was this result expected? Please tell us about your first reaction.
A: I scored 747.23 out of 800 which was less than I expected, was aiming for 750+ but was still satisfied as my hard work paid off.

Q: How was your board result?
A: My board results were not something that I expected, this did dishearten me in many ways but self-reflection is a powerful tool that helped me excel in my CUET UG exam.

Q: When did you start preparing for CUET Exam? What all books did you refer to?
A: I started prepping whilst preparing for my board exams, highlighting one marker and concept clarity which I believe is the key to acing any competitive exam. I made Ncert my bible and for mock tests bought Arihant which came in handy.
Q: How much time did you devote to self-study? What do you feel is better, coaching or self-study?
A: A lot of days I procrastinated since after board exams I reached my saturation point while this is something less talked about ( my peer groups faced the same), overcoming this mental barrier was very important. I used emotion regulation techniques since procrastination is rooted in emotion regulation issues. I studied for around 2-3 hours a day using scientifically proven methods such as Feynman's technique, SQ3R, blurting, etc. For me self study was better but considering the neurodivergence there is no one size fits all.
Q: Which subject is your strong one and which is the weakest? Are NCERT books sufficient for preparations?
A: History and Psychology are my strong subjects and Economics is my weakest. For my subjects, NCERTs were more than enough except for economics for which I used Sandeep Garg as it is more structured.

Q: What was your exam day strategy? According to you, what was the toughest and easiest section?
A: One day before my exam I left all my books and enjoyed, took rest, ample sleep as the relaxed my brain would feel the better my performance would be. The toughest part was to sit for almost 3 hours straight in front of the screen and the easiest was the general test for which I didn’t study at all separately.
Q: Which all universities did you apply for? What was your dream college?
A: I applied for DU, and BHU, JMI being my backups. My aspired colleges are LSR, and Indraprastha College for Women.

Q: What are the courses you are looking forward to?
A: I am looking forward to pursuing my passion for psychology by taking BA (Hons) Psychology in undergrad.
Q: To whom would you like to attribute this success? What would you suggest to future CUET aspirants in terms of preparation, attitude, etc.?
A: I attribute my success to my dad and my school teachers, especially Kaushlendr Sir, my Psychology teacher, who instilled faith in me and saw something that even I couldn’t see in myself.
My piece of advice to the upcoming batch of cuet 2024 aspirants would be to devise a personalized plan of action while prepping for boards and execute them by overcoming procrastination using emotion regulation methods. ( a few ted talks on Youtube help!)
