CUET 2025 syllabus for the domain-specific subjects is released by the National Testing Agency (NTA) along with the information brochure. Candidates are recommended to go through the CUET syllabus for their particular course thoroughly in order to prepare well for the entrance exam. CUET 2025 UG exam will be held in May/June 2025. Candidates can go through the same to get a brief idea of the topics that will be covered in the Common Entrance Test.

The CUET UG syllabus 2025 will be the same as the Class 12 syllabus. As compared to other top UG entrance exam, which includes the syllabus of both Class 11 and Class 12, CUET syllabus is only of Class 12. Hence, students who are preparing and appearing for the Board exams or the other national-level competitive entrance exams like JEE Main or NEET will find it easy to complete and grasp the CUET UG 2025 syllabus. 

Q:   Are NCERT books enough to cover CUET syllabus?
A: 

NTA has mentioned that CUET UG 2026 syllabus will adhere to NCERT syllabus. Hence, it can be assumed that the NCERT books are enough to cover the syllabus of the CUET UG exam. Candidates must note that, CUET exam tests students' understanding of the subject concepts and ability to apply them in various situations.

Therefore, to prepare well and get a good score, it is advised that students refer to other study materials and books designed for national-level competitive entrance exams. The CUET UG syllabus is similar with the Class 12 Board exam syllabus. The chapters and topics are similar to Class 12 syllabus. Unlike other UG entrance exams, CUET UG syllabus does not include Class 11 syllabus.

Q:   Is CUET syllabus based on CBSE syllabus?
A: 

No, CUET syllabus is not based on CBSE syllabus as claimed by Education Ministry in Rajya Sabha. The CUET exam is designed to assess the general understandig of the candidate in subjects he/she has opted for. CUET UG is on of the biggest UG entrance exam carnival conducted for admission in cebtral, state, private and deemed universities.

Candidates preparing for CUET UG exam must check the detailed CUET syllabus and CUET question paper to become familiar with the important topics and type of questions asked in the exam. 

Q:   What is the difficulty level of the CUET exam?
A: 

The difficulty level of the CUET exam ranges from moderate to tough. Since the CUET UG exam is held for multiple subjects and slots, the difficulty level of the exam varies from subject to subject. Sometimes, the difficulty level may also vary for different slots. The difficulty level of exam is also relative and the same exam's level of difficulty may vary for different slots and candidates. While for the well-prepared candidates, the difficulty level will be low, for the underprepared students, the level of difficulty will be on the higher side.

Q:   Is CUET UG syllabus for Language section similar for all languages?
A: 

Yes, CUET UG syllabus for section 1 is same for all sections included. The syllabus for CUET Language section will be inclusive of following topics:

  • Reading comprehension (This will include three passagaes of maximum 300-350 words):
    • Factual
    • Narrative
    • Literary
  • Verbal ability
  • Rearranging the parts
  • Choosing the correct word
  • Synonyms and antonyms
  • Vocabulary

To prepare for the CUET UG section- 1 Languages, candidates must solve CUET sample papers and take mock tests to become familiar with the type of questions that will be asked in CUET UG. There are no specific topics for reading comprehension. Candidates are advised to read the newspaper on daily basis to improve the reading speed and comrehension. 

Q:   How many subjects can a candidate choose in CUET UG while filling the application form?

The numbers for choosing CUET subjects is five out of the 37 options available.

CUET 2025 Exam Pattern

According to the CUET 2025 pattern, the exam is divided into three sections. In the first section, the Language Skills of candidates will be tested through Reading Comprehension passage questions. The second section of CUET exam pattern will be based on the subject opted for and the third section is on GK, Current Affairs, Mathematics, and Logical and Analytical Reasoning. Q:   What is the total score in CUET UG?
A: 

CUET UG total marks is 250 Marks for each subject. Candidates can choose up to five CUET subjects. Each subject paper has 50 questions which will total to 250 marks for each subject. For every correct answer, candidate will get 5 marks. The CUET total marks will be uniform for all 37 subjects. The Total CUET subjects marks can vary depending on the number of subjects chosen by candidates.

  • If three CUET subjects chosen: 750 total marks
  • If four CUET subjects chosen: 1000 total marks
  • If five CUET subjects chosen: 1250 total marks

CUET UG Syllabus: Section 1A & 1B (Language)

Section 1 of CUET syllabus consists of Languages. Section 1 is divided into two parts- A and B consisting of 13 and 20 languages, respectively. Check below to know the languages offered in CUET exam:

  • The languages offered under Section 1A of CUET are Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Gujarati, Odia, Bengali, Assamese, Punjabi, English, Hindi and Urdu.
  • For Section 1B, the languages include French, Spanish, German, Nepali, Persian, Italian, Arabic, Sindhi, Kashmiri, Konkani, Bodo, Dogri, Maithili, Manipuri, Santhali, Tibetan, Japanese, Russian, and Chinese.

Questions from the Language Section of CUET syllabus will be from the following topics but are not limited to the following topics:

Yes, an CUET applicant can opt for one or more combinations of the following:

  3. Select the required CUET subjects for appearing in exam while filling the application form.

Q:   What is CUET UG passing marks?
A: 

There are no prescribed passing marks for CUET UG. In order to know if a candidate has passed the CUET 2025 exam or not or is eligible for admission to desired course and university, they are required to check the passing marks released by the colleges/university seperately. After the declaration of CUET result, all the colleges or universities will release the course-wise passing marks or CUET UG cutoff, which will be used for shortlisting candidates for admission to UG courses.

On the basis of the cut off released by the CUET participating universities and candidates meeting the criteria will be offered amdission to UG courses.

Q:   What is a good score in CUET UG?
A: 

On analysing the CUET UG cut off for the academic year 2025-26, scoring above 700 marks can be considered a good score in CUET UG. Candidates scoring above 700 may fall in the category of 95+ percentile. Candidates can get admission to top universities like University of Delhi, Banaras Hindu University, Jawaharlal Nehru University and other top central universities in the desired course. Given below is the range that is considered good for admission to top universities:

  • Very Good Score: 700 and above
  • Good Score: 650 and above

Score range between 400-649 is considered an average score. Admission on the basis of the average score can et into any decent college in India accepting CUET scores. 

Q:   What is the CUET UG syllabus for general test?
A: 

CUET UG general test will cover the topics from the following:

  • General Knowledge, Current Affairs
  • General mental ability, Numerical ability
  • Reasoning (Simple application of basic Mathematical concepts, quantitative arithmetic, algebra geometry, mensuration and statistics)
  • Logical and analytical reasoning

Q:   What type of questions are asked in the CUET exam?
A: 

The CUET questions are objective in nature and carries four options also known as MCQs. Candidates will have to choose the correct answer option and click on it with the help of mouse. Since CUET UG 2026 exam will be conducted in a CBT mode, test-takers will be able to mark only one answer option. In case it is the correct option, students will get +5 marks and in case of wrong answer, negative marking scheme will be applied. Hence, candidates must ensure the accuracy of the answer before selecting the answer. 

Q:   Is it compulsory to attempt all the sections of the CUET question paper?
A: 

CUET UG question paper for each subject will consist of 50 questions. Candidates will be required to attempt all questions and no optional questions will be provided. In CUET UG 2026 there are 37 subjects- 13 languages, 23 domain subjects and general tests. While filling the CUET application form, candidates can select upto five CUET subjects aligning with the subjects studied in class 12th and course requirement.

Candidates must attempt all the questions of the subjects selected. However, candidates must keep in mind the negative marking and select the options carefully.

You can't do BBA from CUET with PCB in 12 th as CUET requires the same subjects as in 12th for BBA you need math's English and general test

No, Bapuji Academy of Management & Research (BAMR) is not under CUET. The academy accepts the scores of certain other entrance exams such as, MAT/PGCET/KMAT. Candidates who have passed graduation with a minimum of 50% aggregate (45% for reserved category) can apply for admission.

No, Terna Global Business School is not under CUET. Rather the college accepts scores of various other entrance exams such as CAT, XAT, GMAT, MAT, MAH-CET, etc. Candidates are not required to appear for the CUET exam rather they must appear for any of these exams.

No, Chandola Homoeopathic Medical College and Hospital is not under CUET. Instead the college accepts the scores of the UPMT exam for admission to the BHMS course. This is the Uttaranchal Pre-Medical Test and is conducted by the State Government of Uttarakhand at different centres.
