JAM Application Form 2026: Application (Begins), Eligibility, Registration Fees, Documents Required, Correction Window

Aspirants can go through the steps they need to follow to successfully fill and submit the JAM application form as mentioned below:

Step 1: Register at JOAPS

First, candidates have to register themselves at the JAM Online Application Processing System (JOAPS) by filling in and submitting details such as name, email address, mobile number, and password. Once candidates registered for the exam successfully, they were sent an email and SMS containing their enrollment ID. Candidates need to save the enrollment ID and thereafter proceed towards filling the application form of IIT JAM 2026.

Step 2: Fill Details in IIT JAM Application Form

Candidates needed to log in to their accounts using their respective enrollment IDs and passwords. Thereafter, candidates had to start filling the information in their IIT JAM 2026 application form. Details that candidates have to fill in the application form are:

• Exam details: Here, candidates have to select one or two test papers for which they want to write the exam. However, in the case of two papers, candidates have to ensure that both exams are conducted in different sessions.

• Exam centre details: Here, candidates need to select cities where they want to take the test. They can select a maximum of three cities.

• Personal details: This section requires candidates to mention their name, date of birth, gender, category, parents’ names, etc.

• Correspondence address: Here, candidates have to mention the address where they would like to receive any future communication. The address needs to be mentioned with the pin code.

• Educational details: Here, candidates has to mention their educational qualification details such as the name of the qualifying degree, year of passing, college/ university name, marks obtained, etc.

• Photograph: Candidates had to upload (in JPEG format) their passport-size coloured photograph with a white/ very light colour background. The file size was to be between 5 KB and 200 KB. Selfie or informal photographs with sunglasses, hats or caps were not be accepted.

• Signature: Candidates have to upload the digital image of their signature made on A4 white paper in a rectangular box with a black or dark blue ink pen. The file size should be between 5 KB and 100 KB.

Once all details are filled in, candidates can submit the form and proceed to the next step of the application process.

After the form is submitted, a new window would open that would display the name and enrollment ID of the candidate. The window will also display the amount to be paid by the candidate as the application fee. After checking these details, candidates need to click on the 'Proceed to Payment' button.

Candidates can pay IIT JAM 2026 application fee in online mode through internet banking/ debit card/ credit card.

Candidates needed to possess the below-mentioned data/ documents to successfully fill the application form for IIT JAM 2026.

• Personal information (name, date of birth, personal mobile number, parent's name, parent's mobile number, etc.)
• Address for communication (including PIN code)
• Eligibility degree details
• College name and address with PIN code
• JAM Paper(s) Code
• Choice of JAM examination cities
• High-quality passport-size photograph 
• A high-quality image of the candidate’s signature 
• Scanned copy of the Category (SC/ST) Certificate (if applicable) in PDF format
• Scanned copy of PwD Certificate (if applicable) in PDF format
• Details of the valid Identity Document (ID). Candidates should carry this original ID proof to the exam centre.
• Net-banking/ debit card/credit card details for fee payment

Note: The name of the candidate in the JAM application form must be the same as mentioned in their qualifying degree certificate. IIT JAM scorecard 2026 will be issued as per the name entered in the application form. Prefix/ titles such as Mr/ Shri/ Dr/ Mrs/ Smt, etc. should not be used before the name in the IIT JAM application form 2026.

Only those candidates who have submitted the application form and paid the requisite application fee will be eligible to make changes in the application form. 

If candidates made any mistakes in the IIT JAM 2026 registration forms, they can correct them in the correction window. Here we have provided steps to correct the application form:

• Visit the website of IIT JAM 2026 official website- link will be provided soon

• Click on JOAPS portal or the application form correction link.

• Then click on the login button and enter the user id and password.

•  After login you can change specific details in the IIT JAM 2026 Application form.

•  Save the changes and take the printout of the form for future use.

After logging into the JOAPS portal, candidates will be able to see whether their IIT JAM 2026 application form has been scrutinised by the exam authorities and accepted by them or not. Below is the screenshot of how the candidate's account interface will be visible. 

If candidates are satisfied with their JAM 2026 application form, then they do not need to take any action. If they have committed or filled out the application form with incorrect details, then they can edit the application form by clicking on the options mentioned on their account.

After submitting JAM 2026 application forms, they will be scrutinised by exam officials to ensure that all the data entered by an aspirant in the application form (details, documents, photograph, and signature) is accurate. If any discrepancy is found in the information provided then such candidates will be intimated to make the necessary corrections in their application form as per the deadline. IIT Bombay, the examination conducting body is expected to provide an application correction window wherein candidates will have to make the required changes or upload documents and photographs or signatures. 

The IIT JAM 2026 modification window allows candidates to make changes to their personal information, educational qualification details, exam center preferences, and other relevant particulars. The aim is to ensure that all applications are accurate and complete before the final processing stage.

IIT JAM 2026 Form Correction: Details can be corrected

• Choice of exam centers and exam cities

• GCP (for changing Gender or Category or PwD status in the application)
