Aspirants need to follow the steps below as part of the OUAT admission process. The OUAT admission process for the academic session 2025-26 ended on April 24, 2025. The end date for candidates to submit their application form A and application fee to appear for the OUAT 2025 Exam has closed. The end date for the OUAT Application Form B was June 10, 2025.
Step 1: Fill out the OUAT Entrance Exam Application Form
Aspirants need to fill OUAT entrance exam application form on the official website of the Odisha University of Agriculture and Technology. At the time of submission of online application Form-A, candidates have to fill in the particulars such as correct personal information, e-mail ID, mobile number, choice of centre, self-declaration etc and upload his/her recent passport size colour photograph (Height: 200px, width: 150px, file size: 200kb maximum), full signature (Height: 100px, width: 150px, file size: 200kb maximum) in jpg/jpeg format. After submission of the online application Form-A, an application number will be generated and sent to his/her mobile number & e-mail. Candidates need to pay the OUAT entrance exam application fee for UG course admissions online through Credit/Debit Card, Net Banking or UPI.
Step 2: Get OUAT Exam Admit Card
Aspirants applying for UG course admissions can download their OUAT entrance exam admit card from the official website of the university. The admit card for the OUAT entrance exam 2025 comprises the candidate’s name, the course for which they applied, the centre allotted, the date and time of the entrance exam, roll number, photograph and signature. It is a mandatory document that needs to be carried to the exam centre.
Step 3: Appear in OUAT Entrance Exam
To be eligible for admission in UG & PG programmes offered by OUAT, candidates have to participate in the entrance exam, which is two hours long. However, aspirants seeking admission in the BSc (Forestry) course should qualify for the Physical Endurance Test to be conducted one day before their respective day of the counselling of each category, failing which their candidature for admission into the BSc (Forestry) course will not be considered”, informs the official website. The Counselling Process began on August 4, 2025, and the end date for all the selected candidates to report to the campus was August 13, 2025. Candidates without having Mathematics or Biology will have to make up for their deficiency by taking pre-requisite courses in the subject (Mathematics / Biology) to be offered during the first two semesters. For admission into B.V.Sc & A.H and B.F.Sc. subject combination P.C.B. in + 2 science/equivalent is mandatory. Similarly, for B.Tech (Agril. Engg.), subject combination P.C.M in + 2 science / equivalent are mandatory.
Five per cent (5%) of seats are reserved for Persons with Disability (PwD). The candidates applying under the PwD category have to produce the original PwD certificate issued by the competent authority at the time of counselling and admission.
Candidates applying under the AFP quota shall produce the original Bonafide Certificate issued by Rajya Sainik Board, Govt. of Odisha, Bhubaneswar-2 at the time of counselling and admission, failing which his/her admission to AFP category seat will be denied.

The Kashmiri Migrants/ Kashmiri Pandit (Non-Migrants) / Kashmiri Hindu Families (Non-Migrants) living in Kashmir Valley are not required to appear in the OUAT PG Entrance Examination - 2024. Interested candidates must apply online, without which admission is not allowed. The selection of these candidates will be made from a separate merit list prepared based on the highest OGPA/percentage of marks in Under Graduate programme. Without OGPA/marks of qualifying examinations, the application will be invalid. In case of a tie, it will be resolved considering the percentage of marks in the qualifying examination followed by Class 12 science and 10th standard in that order.

A Doctoral Programme is a full-time study of three years which includes both course work and research for a thesis. The maximum permissible period for completion of the course is seven consecutive academic years for direct students and eight consecutive years for in-service students. An academic year consists of two semesters each having a minimum duration of 110 working days consisting of 95 Net Instructional Days (NID) and 15 examination days.
The entrance examination will be held in CBT mode for the Master’s programme and the entrance examination for a doctoral programme (Ph. D) will be held in offline mode in the third week of July 2025, tentatively. The exam is conducted for Veterinary Science candidates in Bhubaneswar only. The OUAT Admit Card can be downloaded from the OUAT website) and the candidate must bring the Admit card with original identity proof to the Examination Centre for verification. Without an admit card and original ID proof, the candidate will not be allowed into the examination hall and hence, will be debarred from appearing in the entrance examination.
The sequence of steps to be followed by each examinee for appearing in the Examination using the Online Examination Portal will be as follows:
The students will have to enter their application number as Username and DOB (Date of birth as mentioned in the application form) as Password and click on the “Sign in” button.
The student’s details will appear on the screen as submitted in Form-A, which must be verified by the student and acknowledge the same by clicking on the “I Confirm” button.
Go through the general instructions and then click on “NEXT” and move to subject-specific instructions.
Once the candidate has gone through the instructions page, the candidate needs to select the language as “English” and click on the check box on the left side of the declaration.

The ICAR/Departmental candidates sponsored by State Govt./Foreign Candidates nominated by ICAR/ICCR/any other statutory bodies of Govt. of India are exempted from appearing in the Entrance Examination. All other categories of candidates including ICAR Fellowship holders are required to appear at the Entrance Examination.
The exam conducting authority released a notice on April 5, 2024 which mentions that the exam dates of OUAT entrance 2024 are changed due to unavoidable reasons. Hence, now the exam will be conducted on June 4 and 6, 2024.
Applicants are advised to download the admit card from May 22, 2024 in online mode.
To appear in the online entrance examination (CBT mode), the candidate must have the admit card and original ID proof. Submission of application Form-B (online) is mandatory for the admission process. No hard copy of application Form-A, Form-B or any other document will be accepted. For admission, the candidate must appear entrance examination and submit Form B. Even if a candidate appears in the entrance examination, but does not submit Form B, the rank will not be generated and the candidate will not be eligible for admission.

There will be 180 general multiple choice questions (Non-crop specific) in part A and 40 crop specific (Field crop and Horticultural crops in equal proportion) questions in part B following the common syllabi of Agriculture and Horticulture faculties. Candidates have to attempt all the questions in part A and any 20 questions from part B.
No, there is no negative marking applicable in the OUAT entrance exam. This led to an increase in the cutoff of the OUAT entrance exam. Since there is no negative marking hence applicants attempt the maximum number of questions they can or even sometimes they do wild guesses.
Questions that are marked correct give the applicants extra marks even without knowing the correct way of solving them.
It is advisable to the students to attempt all the questions in the exam hall.
The entrance examination for admission into the Master’s programme in Computer Based Test (CBT) mode and for the Doctoral programme is offline at Bhubaneswar. For the M.Sc. (Ag) course programme, the question of entrance test will be comprised of two parts Part- A and Part B.
The Entrance Examination will be of 2 hours duration with 200 multiple choice questions of one mark each in English language only. There will be no negative mark for the wrong answer.
