Admission to IIT Delhi BTech courses is subject to fulfiment of the eligibility requirements for JEE Main and JEE Advanced. The students who have passed Class 12 in Science stream with at least 75% aggregate (65% aggregate for SC/ST/PwD) are eligible to apply. Hence, a student scoring less than 60% is not eligible to pursue BTech at IIT Delhi. They can go for other colleges offering the course. Candidates must satisfy at least one of the following two criteria with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as compulsory subjects in the year of first appearance in the Class 12th (or equivalent examination): Candidate must have passed class 12th (or equivalent) Board examination with a minimum of five subjects with the mentioned marks in aggregate (The aggregate marks for PwD candidates should be at least 65%). OR Candidate must have passed class 12th (or equivalent) Board examination with a minimum of five subjects and be within the category-wise (category as per the central list) top 20 percentile of successful candidates in their respective Class 12th (or equivalent) board examination. Other mandatory Criteria: Candidate should have appeared for the Class 12th (or equivalent) examination for the first time in either 2024 or 2025 with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as compulsory subjects. Candidates who had appeared in Class 12th (or equivalent) examination for the first time in 2023 or earlier, are NOT eligible to appear in JEE (Advanced) 2025, irrespective of the combination or number of subjects attempted/offered. However, if the examination Board of Class 12th (or equivalent) declared the results for the academic year 2022-23 on or after June 28, 2023, then the candidates of that Board who appeared for their Class 12th (or equivalent) examination in 2023 are also eligible to appear in JEE (Advanced) 2025, provided they meet all the other eligibility criteria. IIT Delhi OBC cutoff 2025 for JEE Advanced is yet to be released. However, during the last round cutoff in 2024, the JEE Advanced closing ranks for BTech admission varied between 89 and 3185 in the All India quota. In the first round, the cutoff ranks were more competitive for admission compared to the final round. Therefore, based on last year's cutoff ranks, a JEE Advanced rank of 7000 does not allow for admission at IIT Delhi for any BTech or Integrated BTech courses for students belonging to the OBC AI category.
Candidates who meet the course-specific eligibility criteria and have a valid GATE score can apply. Aspirants can complete the application form through the IIT Delhi official website. This is for M.Tech full-time programmes. For part-time/sponsored full-time courses, eligible candidates can register directly at the official website. Admission to part-time M.Tech is based on a written exam and interview round conducted by the institute.
At end of IIT Delhi Phase 1 placements 2024-25, a total of 1,200 offers were made and 1,150 students were placed. In addition, more than 50 international offers were made during IIT Delhi Phase 1 placements 2024-25. International offers came from more than 15 organisations across multiple global regions. The placement rate recorded during IIT Delhi placements 2023 and 2022 stood at 84.94% and 82%, respectively.
