IIT Delhi - An institute something much more than only studies.

Placements: Since the course I am enrolled in is a sponsored course by construction giant Larsen and Toubro, all candidates from my course are already placed. Talking about other branches' M.Tech, I can assure IIT Delhi guarantees all time high placements as well as further research options for students. Whether it be placements or further studies, it is a one stop spot for engineering as well as Science faculty students.

Infrastructure: Study related facilities - World Class, No other comments. If we come down to hostels, the same need a bit of refurbishment as all the hostels except a few are too old (some of them are of 1960s). However the timely refurnishing the hostels is always maintained, but keeping in mind the increasing influx of students due to government decisions and other obvious reasons, new hostels are a dire requirement. Currently, they have even kept the Masters students in some off campus accommodation facilities which sums up into suffering part of the students. However, kudos to the upcoming batches, as full new large hostels are being built up and they will be operational mostly by this session or next.

Faculty: Comparison should never be made between teaching gurus of any two educational institution, as this is what our culture teaches us. All teachers are equally respectable. Personally I have been a part of one of the best engineering institutes of not only Kolkata, but whole India, prior to my joining of IITD. But here I would say that yes, it definitely makes a difference if you have more number of faculty members per students and more importantly, availability of professors for all specialised domains, specially if you are pursuing Masters. In this regard, IITD definitely beats other institutes.

Other: The course I chose provides me an insight of utility of management principles in the industry I am employed in. It is a specialised course for construction management professionals, and since construction industry in itself is an all time booming area, so this course adds up another feather into one's cap. IITD celebrates its annual cultural fest named "Rendezvous" every year, which is the largest fest in the whole northern India. For extracurriculars, superb facilities are always at student's disposal, whenever they need, wherever they need. I myself a part of IITD Music Club, and believe me, the only thing I am going to miss about this college is its environment that it surfaces for extra curricular activities.

Good and Interesting course.

Placements: Construction Technology and Management is an L&T sponsored branch. So placement is obvious. LnT recruit the students of this branch but you cannot sit for other companies which comes for recruitment. They have a bond of 3 lac for 5 year of job after completion of M.Tech. You have to clear LnT BIS exams followed by interview to get this branch. This is not available through GATE.

Infrastructure: Infrastructure is amazing. You get ample of opportunities to explore yourself. You have all the facilities related to sports, night canteen for all hostels, Study room in almost all hostels. Library is open for 24hrs. Efficient labs are available for your research work.

Faculty: Faculty members are satisfactory. Some are very good. You will love the standard of their teaching. This course runs parallel with the branch named "Construction Engineering and management". If you have interest in construction management, economics, finance, contract or in technology like concrete technology aur construction technology, It will be a very good course.

Other: They have annual cultural fest which is quite good, Technical fest is not so good as per expectations. Sports fest is also good. If you want to come through GATE You will get "Construction Engineering and management" which is similar to "Construction Technology and Management.
