The SHIATS 2026 Exam will be conducted on May 10. The SHIATS 2026 entrance exam pattern for undergraduate courses is a computer-based test (CBT), which consists of multiple-choice questions (MCQs) with negative marking. The structure of SHIATS 2026 exam varies on the basis of specific program's subject group (UG 1 or UG 2).

Students must go through the SHIATS syllabus and make a strategy as per their SHIATS 2026 Preparation to qualify the SHIATS exam 2026. The SHIATS 2026 exam duration will be one and a half hours, and the exam for the undergraduate course admissions will tentatively be conducted in the morning. The post-graduate, B Ed, and M.Ed. courses admissions are expected to be conducted in evening sessions.

There will be objective-type multiple-choice questions (MCQs), there will be 100 questions for the undergraduate level exam. The SHIATS 2026 marking scheme consists of +1 mark for every correct answer. -0.25 mark for every incorrect answer.

Q:   On what parameters a candidate's admission to SHIATS courses will be refused?
A: 

Candidates who are interested in taking the admissions to one of the courses offered at SHIATS, will be refused on the following parameters:

  1. If any candidate is found misleading the University with false marks, mark sheet,  information and been admitted in the
    University, the University reserves the right to reject the admission and further debar the candidate from seekingadmission in  the University in future.
  2. It is the responsibility of the candidate to furnish complete and correct information in the application form. Any admission
    made on the basis of wrong or concealed information provided by the candidate or due to any oversight or error of the online counselling and admission division which is subsequently detected after the admission or joining of the candidate, will be cancelled at any time at the cost and the risk of the candidate.
  3. Candidates against whom disciplinary action has been taken and who have been involved in any sort of established criminal offence in the past, will not be considered for admission.
  4. If admission of a candidate is not in the interest of the university, the ViceChancellor reserves the right to cancel the admission of such a student, irrespective of the fact that he / she fulfils all the academic requirement of the programme. The decision of Vice- Chancellor shall be final and legally binding on the candidate.

Q:   What is the age limit for SHIATS Entrance Exam?

There is no restriction on the age for the SHIATS entrance examination. Anyone wishing to take the exam can apply, regardless of age. Of course, the undergraduate exams do require candidates to have passed the 12th standard or equivalent examination from a recognised board of education to be eligible.

Below, we present the eligibility criteria for the SHIATS entrance examination:

  • The candidate should have passed 12th standard or equal examination from a recognised Board of Education.
  • Candidates should have secured a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate in the 12th standard or equivalent examination.
  • Class candidates should have studied the following subjects at 12th standard or equivalent examination: Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.

Q:   How are seats divided in SHIATS Entrance Exam Admission based on the candidate's origin?
A: 

Category of candidates and their allocation of seats in SHIATS etntrance exam is based on the following norms:

  1. Regular Students:  Candidates selected for admission into various academic programmes offered by the university are considered as fulltime regular students. These students will be entitled to avail of all the facilities of the various academic departments and other fields in the university.
  2.  Christian and General Candidates:  University reserves 50% seats for candidates of the Christian community and the remaining 50% seats shall be allotted to general candidates. Thus,  the total number of seats of the university have been categorized equally for Christian and general candidates. The total number of seats for admission in undergraduate and postgraduate programmes are given.
  3.  Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) Candidates: For the academic programmes in agriculture, agricultural engineering and allied sciences, fifteen percent (15%) seats in undergraduate programmes and twenty-five percent (25%) seats in postgraduate programmes will be filled through all India entrance test conducted by ICAR, New Delhi.
    However, eighty-five percent (85%) seats in undergraduate and seventyfive percent (75%) in postgraduate shall be filled by SHUATS.
    The ICAR category seats are inclusive of Christian and general candidates and the number filled in either category shall be adjusted against total seats in each category.
  4. Foreign Candidates: Foreign candidates are not required to appear in SOET / merit based offline counselling / open online counselling. Admission to foreign candidates will be given on the recommendation of the Directorate of International Education and Training. The foreign candidates shall pay fees in U.S. dollars as mentioned in Table No. 9 of Prospectus 2023, which does not include the boarding and lodging (food expenses etc.) charges.
  5. Non-resident Indian (NRI) Candidates:  i. Admission for NRI wards/NRI-sponsored candidates is available in all undergraduate, postgraduate and Ph.D programmes.
     ii. NRI wards/NRI sponsored candidates are exempted from the merit based online counselling / open online counselling.
     iii. These admissions shall be against fifteen percent (15%) over and above seats available for various academic programmes.
