VIT Vellore Courses List & Fees 2026: UG, PG, Doctorate

Vellore Institute of Technology offers 66 UG, 58 PG, 15 integrated and two each of Research and M.Tech (Industrial) courses across multiple streams. The top courses of the institute, include BTech, MTech, MBA, etc. Candidates after completing Class 12 can apply for UG courses and graduation is necessary to apply for the PG courses. Eligible aspirants can apply for VIT admission. The institute conducts VITEEE for BTech admission,  VITMEE for M.Tech and VITREE for PhD admission. Other entrance exams like CAT, MAT, XAT, NATA, etc., are accepted for providing admission to specific courses. Selected candidates are called for further selection rounds. After completion of the selection rounds, aspirants can pay the course fee to confirm their seat in the institute.

A pass in regular, full-time UG/ Integrated degree from a recognised institute/ university of at least three years duration with a minimum of 60% aggregate (50% for SC/ ST candidates and applicants belonging to Jammu & Kashmir and North-Eastern states of Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim and Tripura) is required to apply for the MBA course. 

Additionally, the institute shortlists candidates for MBA course based on national-level entrance exams like CAT, MAT, XAT, GMAT, CMAT, NMAT, ATMA. The shortlisted aspirants are further required to come for the PI round. Vellore Institute of Technology will also consider the academic performance and work experience of the candidates for final selection.

The institute offers over 20 BTech specialisations, namely Computer Science, Electronics & Communication, Civil, Chemical, Biotechnology, Information Technology, Chemical Engineering, etc. Candidates, who have secured a minimum aggregate of 60% (50% aggregate for reserved categories) in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics in Class 12 from a recognised board, can take admission to BTech course. The Vellore Institute of Technology has announced the VITMEE exam dates on the official website. Applicants appearing for the VITMEE exam must be aware of the exam dates, so that they can stay ahead with their preparation. VITMEE exam is scheduled for April 28, 2026 and May 3, 2026. There will be 100 multiple-choice questions in the VITMEE exam. Applicants appearing in the exam have to carry their VITMEE admit card along with one valid photo ID proof at the exam centre. 

VITEEE 2026 exam dates will be announced. The candidates will have to select their preferred slot. VITEEE 2026 application form will have to be submitted before the final date for the eligible candidates to be registered for the examination. 

The median salary package offered to the students after finishing B.Sc. from VIT Vellore is INR 300,000 - INR 810,000. While, the Median package offered by School of Science and Humanities, SRM IST, Chennai after completion of B.Sc. is INR 275,000 - INR 425,000. Basis these stats, VIT Vellore is better option compared to School of Science and Humanities, SRM IST, Chennai on the Median salary parameter.

The VIT Vellore highest package offered during the 2025 placement drive stood at INR 1 Cr per annum LPA. Earlier, the highest packages offered to the batch 2024 was INR 88 LPA. Gong back to 2023 placements, it was NR 1.02 Cr per annum.

A total of 14044 offers were made in 2025 including 3499 Dream, 3563 Super Dream and 6982 Regular offers from 868 participating companies. The highest package offered during VIT Vellore placements 2025 stood at INR 1 Cr per annum. 

Students have to meet the VIT Vellore course eligibility to get admission in the university. The requirements and minimum percentage may change depending on the programme and specialisation. The common eligibility however, is as below:

• VIT Vellore UG eligibility - Class 12 with required subjects from a recognised board
• VIT Vellore PG eligibility - UG degree in relevant field from a recognised university
• VIT Vellore PhD eligibility - PG degree in relevant field from a recognised university

For that in the non-core branches, you have to secure under 50k rank and if you want to take admission in core branches then you have to secure under 10k rank. For CSE, you have to score under 1k and for ECE under 5k rank.

No, VIT Vellore BSc is not a professional course. As this UG programme imparts specialised knowledge and skills in different fields, such as Mathematics,  Chemistry,  Physics,  Computer Science, and other scientific fields. It is not a professional course as a degree course, which leads sdirectly to specific professions (such as Engineering).

However, BSc graduates can lead to various good professional opportunities. Thus, the BSc course students can serve as a stepping stone toward professional roles in fields such as Research, Education, Technology, and more. 

Students aspiring to take admission to the VIT Business School BBA programme must fill out the application form. As per the official website, the fee to apply is INR 600. This fee is nonrefundable. Moreover, students must note that the aforementioned fees is as per official sources. However, it is subject to change.

Students with 65-75 marks out of 120 will have a fair chance of getting admissions through VITEEE 2023. The cutoff for admissions will be prepared based on various factors related to the entrance exam. However, it is to be noted that only those candidates who secure a rank of up to 1 Lacs will be eligible for admissions into VIT Vellore and Chennai campuses. Those students with a rank above 1 Lacs will be able to apply for admissions into the VIT Andhra Pradesh and Bhopal campuses.

The facilities and amenities at VIT Vellore hostel include:

VIT Vellore accepts VITEEE cutoff 2024 was concluded for admission to the BTech specialisations. However, the authorities did not release the VIT Vellore VITEEE 2024 cutoff online, and it was only accessible to candidates who appeared for the entrance exam. VIT Vellore's cut off depends on several factors and will be used in the preparation of the merit list for the counselling and admission process.

The institute conducts VITEEE for BTech admission, VITMEE for M.Tech admissions and VITREE for PhD admission. The institute accepts national-level entrance exams like CAT, XAT, MAT, GMAT, CMAT, ATMA, etc., for MBA course. However, admission to a few other courses, including BSc, BSc (Hons), BCA, BCom, MSc, MCA, among others, is based on the aggregate obtained by the candidates in previous qualifying degree/ exam (merit-based). After passing the entrance exam, aspirants are called further rounds of selection. Shortlisted aspirants need to come for counselling and document verification round.

VIT Business School accepts VITREE scores for PhD admissions. Thus, candidates interested in taking admission can apply for the exam. The steps to apply are as follows:

1. Go to the official website of the institute.

2. Click on the 'VITREE' under the research programmes tab.

3. Create a new candidature account using your active email ID & contact number.

4. Enter your personal, educational, and other relevant details.

5. Attach the required documents.

6. Pay the application fees of INR 1,200.

7. Submit the form.
