Candidates should have secured a minimum aggregate of 60% (50% for SC/ST/applicants hailing from Jammu & Kashmir, Ladakh and the North-Eastern states) in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics in the qualifying examination (Class 12 or equivalent) from a recognised board to apply for the BTech course. Apart from the qualification, candidates must fulfill the below-mentioned criteria:

• Applicant must be a resident/ non-resident Indian National/ PIO
• Candidates having Mathematics/ Physics/Chemistry in Class 12 only are eligible for all the BTech
• Candidates need to pass Class 12 with Physics/ Chemistry/ Biology and English for admission to BTech Biotechnology, CSE Bioinformatics and ECE Biomedical Engineering.

BTech CSE highest package data is not released. However, the average and median package recorded during IIT Madras BTech CSE placements 2025 was 53.2 LPA and 46 LPA.

BTech is IIT Delhi's flagship programme. Qualifying JEE Mains 2026 and JEE Advanced 2026 is mandatory for IIT Delhi BTech Admissions 2026. Meanwhile, 75% aggregate in Class 12 board exams is strictly required for IIT BTech admission 2026.

IIT Delhi BTech Seats are allotted via JoSAA counselling based on ranks and cutoffs. According to IIT Delhi JEE Advanced 2026 cutoff, the institute closed the Round 1 cut off at 123 for B.Tech. in Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) for General Category (Gender Neutral) candidates.

For admission to the IIT Kanpur BTech programme, qualifying JEE Main is mandatory to become eligible for JEE Advanced. Only candidates who clear JEE Advanced can be considered for BTech admission at IIT Kanpur through JoSAA counselling. 

The BTech fees at IIT Hyderabad is currently unknown for the academic year 2026. Candidates who wish to learn the IIT Hyderabad fees will need to wait until the BTech admissions have been concluded.

The Amrita School of Engineering BTech programme is spread across a wide array of specialisations. The institute offers 14 BTech specialisations. This amounts to an intake of 1000+ seats for admission to BTech. Among all the specialisations, Computer Science and Engineering has the highest intake with 480 seats. To conclude, it is evident that CU is a great option for Engineering aspirants if you're willing to pursue CSE & IT branches, however, for other non-IT branches, the placements are decent but not as great as the CS & IT branches.
