It is not compulsory to attempt all the question in MHT CET exam. Students are advised to attempt only those questions for which  they know the correct answer. Questions for which the answer is not sure should be left. However, as there is NO negative marking in MHT CET exam,  questions for which answer is doubtful can be attempted in last. The Maharashtra Common Entrance Test Cell conducts the counselling in three or four rounds, depending upon the number of candidates participating in the counselling. The MHT CET CAP counselling 2025 had 4 rounds while in 2024, the counselling was conducted in 3 rounds.

The facility to raise objections is not provided for the final answer key. After login, candidates will see the answers to all the questions given and the answer marked by the candidate. If any candidate wish to raise the objection to any official answer, they need to select the respective answer and click on the raise a dispute option. Candidates also have to pay INR 1000 per question as fees for raising the objection.

Merit list of MHT CET is prepared considering class 12 marks and CET in 50:50 ratio. The position of candidates in the merit list will be based on marks obtained by adding the MHT CET and class 12 marks. A certain number of seats are reserved under Home-State quota and All India quota. All India quota seats are filled on the basis of JEE Main scores while Home-State quota seats are filled on through MHT CET scores. With 97.5 percentile in MHT-CET, you have a strong chance to get admission in reputed colleges like PICT Pune, VIT Pune, SPIT Mumbai, or Thakur College of Engineering for branches such as IT, ECE, or Electrical. COEP and VJTI may be difficult for CSE. Government colleges like WCE Sangli, SGGS Nanded, and GCOE Amravati are also good options. You can get preferred branches in private colleges and core branches in government ones. Your chances further improve if you belong to a reserved category or have home university advantage within Maharashtra.

For the General HS category, the cutoff ranged from 4.33 to 20.54 percentile for M.Tech course specialisations. Therefore, students need to attain at least 4.33 percentile for admissions at COEP Pune. MHT CET M.Tech percentiles are required for admission to M.Tech courses at COEP, Pune.

CET Cell conducted a special MHT CET registration from March 19 to 20, 2026. Earlier, the MHT CET 2026 registration concluded for both PCM and PCB groups on February 24. The MHT CET 2026 registration last date with a late fee of Rs 500 was February 27.

As per Maharashtra CET Cell , there is no age limit for candidates applying for the exam. It is must as per MHT CET eligibility criteria that candidates have either passed class 12 exam or they are appearing in class 12 exam.
