What is MHT CET CAP Process?

The Centralised Admission Process (CAP) is the official counselling process through which seats are allotted in Maharashtra engineering and pharmacy colleges. The entire process is conducted online by the CET Cell. The counselling process includes:

  • Online registration
  • Uploading and verification of documents
  • Publication of provisional merit list
  • Submission of grievances, if any
  • Final merit list
  • Option form and college preference filling
  • CAP seat allotment rounds
  • Reporting to allotted institutes

Documents Required for MHT CET Counselling

Candidates should keep the following documents ready before the CAP registration begins:

  • MHT CET 2026 scorecard
  • Class 10 mark sheet
  • Class 12 mark sheet
  • School leaving certificate
  • Domicile certificate, if applicable
  • Caste certificate and validity certificate, if applicable
  • Income certificate for EWS or scholarship benefits
  • Aadhaar card
  • Passport-size photograph

Merit List and Seat Allotment

After document verification, the CET Cell will release a provisional merit list. Candidates will be given an opportunity to raise objections if they find any errors in their details. A final merit list will then be published.

Seat allotment will be carried out through multiple CAP rounds. Students can fill their preferred colleges and branches during option form submission. Seats will be allotted based on merit rank, category, reservation rules and availability of seats.

What Should Students Do Now?

Right now, students must focus on arranging all the required documents, checking their details and preparing a list of preferred colleges and branches. Keeping documents ready in advance can help avoid last-minute issues when CAP registration opens. The official counselling notification, schedule, seat matrix and admission brochure will be released on the CET Cell portal. Once the CAP registration starts, students will need to complete document verification, choice filling and seat allotment formalities to secure admission in their preferred college.
