MHT CET CAP Dates 2026: The State Common Entrance Test (CET) Cell, Maharashtra is conducting the MHT CAP round 1 counselling online. Candidates can fill in their college and branches choices until July 30. The seat allotment results for round 1 will be announced on August 2, 2026. Candidates whose names are included in the final MHT CET merit list 2026 will be considered for admission. The authorities will conduct four rounds of MHT CET counselling.
Through the Centralised Admission Process (CAP) process, candidates can get admission to engineering, pharmacy and other professional courses in participating colleges across Maharashtra. Through MHT CET CAP, candidates get admission into BE, BTech and Pharmacy programmes at participating institutes across Maharashtra. Since the MHT CET exam was held in two sessions, the authorities consider the best of both attempts for admission.

Candidates who have not applied or still have not appeared in MHT CET can participate in the counselling based on their JEE Main score. Those who do not have MHT CET or JEE Main score can also participate in counselling based on class 12 marks.
Candidates who have not appeared in MHT CET exam can participate in the counselling based on their JEE Main score, if appeared. Candidates who did not appeared either in JEE Main or MHT CET can participate in the counselling based on their class 12 percentage.
Admission in BTech courses in Maharashtra is given on the basis of three exams

A certain number of seats are reserved under Home-State quota and All India quota. All India quota seats are filled on the basis of JEE Main scores while Home-State quota seats are filled on through MHT CET scores. At the end of counselling/seat allotment on the basis of MHT CET and JEE Main, seats that remain vacant are filled on the basis of class 12 marks.
At the time of registration for MHT CET counselling, candidates need to provide the detail of applying for admission on the basis of JEE Main/MHT CET or class 12.
What is MHT CET CAP Process?
The Centralised Admission Process (CAP) is the official counselling process through which seats are allotted in Maharashtra engineering and pharmacy colleges. The entire process is conducted online by the CET Cell. The counselling process includes:

- Submission of grievances, if any
- Final merit list
- Option form and college preference filling

Candidates can download MHT CET Counselling CAP allotment letter by logging in to official website. Allotment letter has details about college and branch allotted to candidate and fees to be paid to confirm admission.
The Maharashtra Common Entrance Test Cell conducts the counselling in three or four rounds, depending upon the number of candidates participating in the counselling. The MHT CET CAP counselling 2025 had 4 rounds while in 2024, the counselling was conducted in 3 rounds.
MHT CET counselling and seat allotment process has several steps. Once a seat is allotted to candidate, he/she has option to “Accept and Freeze” and “Accept and Float”. MHT CET Merit List
After document verification, the CET Cell releases a provisional merit list. Candidates are given time to raise objections, if they find any errors, to the provisional list. The authorities then publish a final merit list after considering all the valid objections.
MHT CET 2026 Seat Allotment
Seat allotment is carried out through multiple CAP rounds. Students can fill their preferred colleges and branches during option form submission. Seats will be allotted based on merit rank, category, reservation rules and availability of seats.
Commonly asked questions
No, candidates cannot raise objections against MHT CET Result 2025. However, in case there is any doubt about the marks, they can request of verification of their results. To request verification, candidates need to send a written request to the MHT CET Cell.
There is no fee for MHT CET counselling registration. Candidates can register and participate in counselling without any fee. They need to pay the seat confirmation fees once the seat is allotted to them.
The scorecard of MHT CET will have details of percentile score in the exam and basic details of the candidates. Candidates can check their subject-wise marks, the total aggregate score, rank secured and qualifying status through MHT CET 2026 result.
