Photo for MHT CET Application Form 2026 - How to Capture
Candidates should get their photo professionally clicked to upload in MHT CET 2026 form. Thereafter, photo needs to be scanned as per instructions and uploaded in form. Those candidates cannot get their photo clicked by a professional, they can take their photo at home. However, they must follow instructions below:
- Candidates should stand or sit straight with a neutral expression on their face.
- Capture full face of candidate, have a front view covering 50 to 70% of the space, and both eyes should be open.
- Head should be in centre of the frame. Photo should have full head of the candidate from top of the hair to bottom of their chin.
- Photo must show both ears, and both eyes should be open.
- Candidates should face camera directly and should not tilt or turn their head.
- There should be no distracting shadows on face or background. Light should be even and balanced to avoid shadows on face.
- The background behind face should be properly lit to avoid shadows in background.
Candidates who wear eyeglasses should take care of following points:
- Eyes must be open, clearly visible and must not be covered by hair or eyeglass frames.
- Glare on eyeglasses should be avoided with a slight upward or downward tilt of head.
- No tinted or dark glasses should be in photo.
Commonly asked questions
Taking help of coaching is not necessarily required for clearing the MHT CET exam. Many students score good marks in MHT CET by self-studying, without help from coaching. To crack MHT CET without coaching, students need to make a study plan considering the time they have before exam.
Students can take help of online tutorials and videos from previous year toppers who have cleared the exam without coaching to understand their strategy. One thing that is required when students are not taking coaching is regular study.
Make a daily time table of study and devote at least 5-6 hours for MHT CET preparation. Students who are in class 11 or 12 can give 3-4 hours specifically for CET beside school studies. Students who have passed class 12 should also study at least 6 hours daily.
Candidates must start the MHT CET preparation from their class 11 and 12 school textbooks. NCERT class 11 and 12 books for Physics, Chemistry and Maths are also recommended by various subject experts as the best book to prepare for MHT CET as well as JEE Mains. Yes, MHT CET is similar to JEE Mains in difficulty level, as per the exam conducting authority. However, the syllabus of MHT CET is less in comparison to JEE Mains. In MHT CET, class 12 complete syllabus and only a few topics of class 11 is asked whereas JEE Mains consists all topics of class 11 and 12 syllabus.
Candidates must carry the print-copy of their MHT CET admit card downloaded from the website. Candidates carrying admit card in their mobile phone will not be allowed to appear in the exam.

How to scan photo to upload in MHT CET form?

Scanning photo: Candidates can use a scanner device to scan photo, and if they don't have a scanner, then they can also use a phone app (like Adobe Scan, Microsoft Lens, CamScanner). Some phone cameras also have a built-in scanning facility.
Adjusting photo size and dimensions: After scanning photo, candidates can crop the photo as per size given in MHT CET photo specifications. Cropped photo has to be saved in a size which is not less than 20 KB and not more than 5 MB.
Other Important Photo Guidelines for MHT CET Registration 2026
Apart from above guidelines, candidates should also take care of the following:
- Photo should be recently taken or should not be more than 3 months old.
- Make sure your appearance in photo is not drastically different from photo on your government ID cards, like Aadhaar card, voter ID card, etc. If appearance is too different, then please get your government ID cards updated.
- Upload photo carefully, as same photo will be used in MHT CET 2026 admit card and during MHT CET counselling process.
- Do not edit photo too much, and make sure all features of your face are visible in photo.
- Please upload a high resolution photo.
- Candidates will get a one-time opportunity to correct their photo in the submitted form, if needed, during the MHT CET 2026 form correction window.
