IPMAT Indore 2026 was conducted on May 4, 2026, in computer based test format by IIM Indore. The overall difficulty level of the IPMAT exam 2026 was moiderate. The IPMAT exam pattern 2026 was the same as previous years and the IPMAT question paper 2026 had three sections, i.e. Quantitative Aptitude (SA), Quantitative Aptitude (MCQ) and Verbal Ability.
The Quantitative Aptitude (MCQs) section was the most tricky section according to the students who took the exam. IPMAT Question Paper 2026 Analysis: Section-Wise

Verbal Ability (MCQ): The VA section of the IPMAT exam 2026 was easy to moderate and doable. The section required strong comprehension skills. There were 3 RCs and questions based on parajumbles.
Quantitative Aptitude (MCQs): This section was the toughest according to the students who took the exam. There were questions based on logarithms, DILR, algebra and geometry. Strong time management and calculation skills could have got students a decent score. There were 30 questions. Students were able to attempt 11 to 12 questions easily.
Quantitative Aptitude (SA): The section was relatively easier than its counterpart. It offered scoring opportunities. Students who were clear with the concepts and basics could have attempted questions in a better way. The questions were doable. There were 15 questions in this section. Students were able to attempt 6 to 7 questions.

Difficulty of IPMAT maths questions is generally based on Class 9 to 12 level. The QA section focuses on application based questions. Mostly questions are from Class 11 and Class 12 level such as Algebra, Matricies, etc.
There will be 50 multiple choice questions in the Verbal Ability section of IPMAT. The overall questions are 90 to 100 questions.
There are 25 short answer type questions in the Quantitative Aptitude (SA) section of IPMAT Indore exam. Overall there are 90-100 questions.
Syllabus in IPMAT exam is based on Class 12 but, students have to study advanced topics as IPMAT QA section has higher level mathematic questions. IPMAT syllabus assesses knowledge of students and skills at Class 12 level.

Yes, there are subjective-type or long form answer questions in the IPMAT exam. The Quantitative Aptitude section of the IPMAt exam has Short Answer Type questions as well as Multiple-choice questions. There are 25 questions each in both the QA sections of the IPMAT question paper. The duration of the exam is 120 minutes and the candidates will have 40 minutes to solve one section and another 40 minutes to solve the other. Candidates must attempt all the sections keeping in mind that the exam has negative marking. Candidates must note that each question in the IPMAT question paper carries four marks and one mark is deducted for every incorrect answer. No marks are awarded or deducted for unattempted questions. The exam is conducted in the computer-based test mode, hence the candidates have to type down their answers on their screens. As for the MCQs, candidates will be required to choose the correct answer in from the four options give against each question. If the candidate marks two answers for one question, then the answer will be marked incorrect.
