To be eligible for MBA admission at IIT Roorkee, candidates need to possess a graduation degree/ professional qualification in any stream from a UGC-recognised university with a minimum of 60% aggregate (55% for SC/ ST/ PwD candidates).
Apart from this the entrance exam scores are also considered by the institute for admission to the MBA programme. For IIT graduates the entrance exam scores are not required their admissions are completely based on their personal interview conducted in the institute campus.

In order to get admission for BTech course at IIT Roorkee, students are required to apply via JEE Main followed by JEE Advanced application. The process of application for JEE Mains consists of three steps, i.e registration, form filling & documents upload followed by payment of application fees. Followed by JEE Main, students are required to register for JEE Advanced. For this, candidates have to first login with their JEE Main 2025 application number and password. Next candidates have to fill in the registration form, upload scanned certificates, and pay the application fee. The photo and signature in the online JEE Advanced application form will be already populated from the JEE Main application form.

IIT Roorkee - Indian Institute of Technology will release 6 rounds of JEE Advanced cutoffs for admission to B.Tech. The cutoffs will be released on a rolling basis, and the seats will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis. The cutoffs will be based on the following factors:
- The JEE Advanced score of the candidate
- The category of the candidate
- The number of seats available in the course

The tuition fee waiver / concession in IITs and NITs are as follows:
For GEN and OBC students having annual family income less than Rs. 1 Lacs and all SC, ST & PwD students: 100% tuition fee waiver. Only fee in other heads like exam fee, hostel and mess fee, gymkhana fee, etc., need to be paid.
For GEN and OBC students having annual family income between Rs. 1 Lacs and Rs. 5 lakh: 2/3rd waiver in tuition fee. Only 33.33% of tuition fee need to be paid.
For GEN and OBC students having annual family income above Rs. 5 Lacs or those students who are not desirous of obtaining fee waiver or have not submitted income certificate: Full tuition fee need to be paid.

The last-round closing ranks for the General AI category ranged between 481 and 19885. The toughest course to get into the college was BTech in CSE; and the least difficult among all the courses was BArch.
For the OBC AI category candidates, the last-round cutoff ranged between 236 and 6973. The toughest course for the OBC AI was also BTech in CSE and the easiest one was BArch.
For 2022, cut off was 413 for General category candidates in All India quota for B.Tech. in Computer Science and Engineering in IIT Roorkee - Indian Institute of Technology. For female candidates in general category under All India quota, 1463 was the closing rank. B.Tech cut off varies depending on the category and domicile/quota of the applicant.
IIT Roorkee under its Department of Management Studies (DOMS) offers a two-year MBA programme across five specialisations. It is a full-time residential programme which is divided into eight terms. MBA admission at IIT Roorkee is offered based on CAT score, followed by the performance of candidates in the PI round. However, JEE Advanced-qualified IIT Graduates with CGPA 7 or above on a 10-point scale are exempted from the initial shortlisting process and are directly called for the PI round. The selection criteria is divided into two caregories:
Category-1 (Graduates applying on the basis of CAT score) - CAT score: 60%, PI: 30%, Work experience: 10%
Category-2 (IIT graduates admitted through JEE Advanced) - PI: 100%
Based on the above distribution the candidates are selected for MBA programme.
JEE Advanced 2024 registrations have begun. Candidates who have qualified JEE Main 2024 are eligible to apply for the said exam. The last date to register for JEE Advanced is May 07, 2024. The deadline to pay the registration fees is May 10, 2024. The exam is scheduled on May 26, 2024 and the admit cards for the same will be available from May 17, 2024 May 26, 2024.
The rank that you require to target for a particular specialisation at IIT Roorkee would depend on the category you belong to. If you belong to the General AI category, then you must target a rank of below 2033 for Electrical Engineering, as per the last round.
If you belong to the OBC AI category, then your target should be a rank below 1012. For the SC AI and ST AI category candidates, the target rank for Electrical Engineering should be below 560 and 298, respectively.
