Overall great but needs some improvement.

Placements: Nearly 60% of students from my branch got placed in the first phase of the placement season with packages ranging from 6 LPA to 60 LPA. The average package is around 14 LPA - 15 LPA in my course. Top non-core recruiting companies include Google, Microsoft, and Adobe. For core, Jaguar Land Over, ITC, Hindustan Unilever Ltd, Bajaj, and Tata Steel visit the college. The state of internships is not that great with only 5 students getting it. The top companies for internships are the same as for the placement season.

Infrastructure: The lecture hall complexes and sports facilities are nice. Unfortunately, these are the only great things. Hostels are average at best. The quality of food depends on the mess. The company holds the tender of the mess. Fortunately, it is not very difficult for students to get the tender changed. Most canteens are excellent. Each has one specialty. Medical facilities are also really nice with an availability of most medicine.

Faculty: The course curriculum was updated last year. The change has been massive. Everyone now studies data science, data structures, and algorithms. It required maths and all the latest trends. The curriculum for sure makes students industry-ready. All faculty members are knowledgeable and qualified, but most lack the teaching capabilities. Semester exams are not very difficult. The grading is very lenient. The pass percentage is around 90-95% of the class.

Other: The campus is beautiful at all times. The crowd is talented, helpful, cooperative, and friendly. Fests here are at another scale.

My journey at IIT ROORKEE.

Placements: There is a placement and internship cell in IITR which helps the students to get placements. The internship ratio of IITR is not that good; only 1/3 of the students got internships, and from that, most of them are from the circuit branch. The internship ratio in the non-circuit branch is bad. But the placements are awesome in IITR. Most of the students who sit in placements get that.

Infrastructure: Infrastructure is so beautiful and clean. Every branch has its own department, for example, Mechanical, CSE, Civil. Every hostel is gender-specific. Visiting rooms of the opposite gender is not allowed, but canteens of each hostel are accessible to everyone till 12:00 at midnight. After that, going to the canteens of the opposite gender is not allowed. Mess food is average but healthy. Some buildings like the West Block Mechanical Department are very old, but they are maintained. Some buildings like the HSS Department Building, APJ Lecture Hall, and the new hostels like Himalaya Bhawan has very good architecture. College is wholesome. It has everything like modern laboratories, the Mahatma Gandhi central library. Hostel and residential areas, sports facilities, a research center, shooting facilities in MAC, and what not. I just want to say that it has all facilities which are highly maintained.

Faculty: Faculty in IITR, especially the mechanical and industrial engineering department, is very good and highly knowledgeable ( having expertise in the respective fields). They used to connect the theoretical knowledge to the practical world via various workshops held by them. They also provided research projects and internships to the students. The faculty is approachable and supportive.

Living my dream life. Lot of pressure of exams and tutorials but it's amazing .

Placements: Almost 80% of our students land jobs after graduation. The highest salary package is around 60-70 Lacs rupees per annum (LPA), while the lowest is about 6-7 LPA. Most students average around 11-12 LPA. We've got some big-name recruiters like Tata Motors, BMW, and General Electric snapping up our students! Internships are also a breeze, with about 60% of students scoring them. Siemens and Tata Steel are some of the top companies that offer internships to our students.

Infrastructure: RJB hostel is a bit old, but with friends everything becomes beautiful. The D block in RJB is the newest one and quite good. But the library and department are architectural masterpieces. IIT Roorkee has the most beautiful and natural campus of all the IITs. Each bhawan has study rooms, LAN, and high-speed Wi-Fi in each room. The mess food is manageable but not like home. Medical facilities are available 24/7. IIT Roorkee has the best sports facilities of all the IITs.

Faculty: The teachers here are very qualified and educated, and they ensure that the students are industry-ready. The mechanical engineering program here is evergreen, and it is the core of all other aspects of engineering. There are also a lot of technical societies at IIT Roorkee that are passionate about mechanical engineering, such as ASME, RMS, and SAE. The semester exams are tough, but if we study properly, we can pass.

Other: I chose IIT Roorkee for mechanical engineering because my rank was near 3,000 and I've always had an interest in mechanical engineering. I wish that data science and computer science were integrated with the mechanical department so that innovation could reach its full potential. IIT ROORKEE is a happening place. There are events like Thomso, Cognizance, and Sangram, and something crazy is happening every day that encourages us to do something unique. For extracurricular activities, we have all types of clubs imaginable, from poetry and dance to music and astronomy.

Good placements and beautiful college with good bunch of students .

Placements: Currently I am a final year student at IIT Roorkee. Placement season has not started yet. So I will share my seniors placement, almost 80% of them are placed and average package is around 16 Lacs. Top recruiters are jaguar, Landrover and Bajaj etc.

Infrastructure: My college hostel is old but the Wi-Fi facilities was very good. Food is also good. Labs and classrooms are well-equipped and they are very good. Library is very good with all books available. Sporting culture is also good and grounds and indoor game facilities are also there.

Faculty: Faculty is highly qualified and they are very helpful. Their teaching is also good. Course curriculum is also very updated and it aligns with industry needs. Semester exams are moderate to difficult, depends on the professors and relatively grading is there for most if the courses.

Other: College fests are fun and you will enjoy your entire stay in college. It is a beautiful campus. Crowd is very good and people here will help you throughout your college days.

IIT Roorkee's beauty unwrapped.

Placements: 115 were placed out of 145, and many were working on other startups, and many were placed off-campus, so overall, our placements are very good. The average package in our course is around 20 LPA, and the highest can go up to crores. Top recruiting companies in our course are Tata, Bajaj, Jaguar, Hindustan Union, etc. The top roles offered are assistant engineer, consultant, etc.

Infrastructure: We have all the facilities we need; we have our own centralized AC library, which is open 24 hours a day during exams. We have the best Wi-Fi and internet speeds in India. We have centralized AC classrooms with a capacity of around 200+ students. Hostel rooms are not that good, but we have all other facilities, like our gym and our student club, where we have a billiard table, a pool table, a TT table, etc. And we have a common student club on campus, where we have PS4 as well. Food in the mess is not so good, but better than all colleges in India. We have our own government hospital inside our campus, where we get free checkups and medicine.

Faculty: Teachers are highly qualified and knowledgeable, but they don't know how to teach; they act just like machines who come to class, turn on PPT, and then the class is over. The mechanical curriculum is very hectic overall; we have classes from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. some days. But someone unlike me attends them regularly, and sincerely, they are going to be the best engineers. Our exams are like JEE Advanced Pro Max in some subjects, unlike other private colleges, where we have to study really hard to perform well in exams, but here the crowd, you know, is all the best minds of India. We have relatively good grading.

Other: Because, according to my rank and college, this was the best branch I was getting. We should add some robotics courses as well instead of studying those old manual mechanical machines that will be of no use in the future. We have mainly two festivals, which are considered the best in North India.

I am in 57 percnetile in JEE Main and 93 % in 12th Bd Exam. Can I get adm in IIT, IIIT, NIT?

No, with 57 percentile it's not possible to get admission in any NITs IIITs or IIT. It's better to check for some other private institute which take students with their class 12th marks, as you have good percentage.
