NIT Calicut Admission 2025: Cutoff, Fees, Eligibility & Application

Candidates with a BSc or BCA degree in Mathematics/ Statistics/ Business Mathematics or BE/ BTech with a minimum of 60% aggregate is the basic eligibility for MCA at NIT Calicut. In addition to this, NIMCET scores are required for MCA admission. In addition, the aspirants must also meet the eligibility requirements.

Admission to the two-year MTech courses in NIT Calicut is based on merit in GATE. The GATE application procedure is online, aspirants can apply by visiting the official website (gate.iitk.ac.in). No, NIT Calicut does not accept NATA scores for admission to the Bachelor of Architecture (BArch) course. The institute offers admission to BArch based on JEE Main paper-II scores only. In addition, for selection it is crucial that the aspirant also meet the eligibility requirements for BArch course, which is Class 12 pass from a recognised board.

 In order to submit the NIT Calicut MTech application form successfully, candidates will have to pay the required fees. The application fee for OP/EWS/OBC/PwD categories candidates is INR 1,000. In addition, the SC/ST categories need to pay INR 500. Further, the application fee payment can be done through credit card/debit card/net banking.

NIT Calicut - National Institute of Technology will release 6-8 rounds of JEE Main cutoffs for admission to BTech  in Electrical & Electronic Engineering. The cutoffs will be released on a rolling basis, and the seats will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis. The cutoffs will be based on the following factors:

• The JEE Main score of the candidate
• The category of the candidate
• The number of seats available in the course

For students belonging to the General AI quota, the GATE CCMT Round 1 cutoff scores varied between 351 and 731. For top M.Tech branches like CSE and CSE (Information Security), the cutoff scores stood at 731 and 694, respectively. Considering the first round cutoff 2025, other top M.Tech specialisations were Microelectronics and VLSI Design with a cutoff score of 647 and Electronics Design and Technology (600). Candidates with a CAT percentile above 70 shall have a fair chance of getting a seat in an MBA at NIT Calicut. However, this is an expected percentile and hence may vary. The CAT cutoff varies every year as it depends upon various factors such as the number of applicants, applicants’ CAT scores, etc.

The last year 2022 cutoff ranks for BTech in Electrical and Electronics Engineering at NIT Calicut - National Institute of Technology other than General category are - 24486 for OBC, 64184 for SC, 68100 for ST & 20288 for EWS. NIT Calicut, also known as, National Institute of Technology, provides various UG and PG level courses to students. The college mainly focuses on streams such as Management, Engineering, Computer Applications, Architecture, Science, etc. NIT Calicut offers a BTech programme to students at the UG level for a duration of 4 years. Further, the fee structure of the NIT Calicut BTech programme is around INR 5 lakh.

Admission criteria to National Institute of Technology Calicut is primarily entrance based and is different for all UG and PG programmes. To get into UG programmes, the eligibility criteria is the minimum aggregate in Class 12 or equivalent, along with entrance exams.
