Not completely satisfied because of placements in core jobs, but overall, it is good.
Placements: Placement depends on the branch. In CSE, around 80% of students get placed. Nearly 60% of students get placed in other circuit branches like Electronics and Communication Engineering and Electrical and Electronics Engineering. Around 50–60% of students from other branches get placed. The average package is around 9 LPA. Majorly, software companies visit our campus. Some core companies like Texas Instruments, Qualcomm, and BEL also visit for recruitment.
Infrastructure: When I was in my 2nd and 3rd year, my hostel was very good in terms of cleanliness and infrastructure. That building was newly constructed. The 4th-year hostels are average. The college is going to make some changes to these hostels. The 1st-year hostels are comparatively better now than ours were.
Faculty: Lectures in NITC are good. They provide valuable information. The exam questions are tough, and the invigilation is also strict. In our college, grading depends on the professor's interest. It can be absolute or relative, but mainly it is relative. The passing percentage is around 85%.

One of the best NITs ever.
Placements: Placements at NIT Calicut are good, especially for top branches. Around 75-85 percent of students got placed. Many reputed companies visit the campus and offer both placements and internships. Students with good CGPS and skills usually get good opportunities.
Infrastructure: The campus has excellent infrastructure with good classrooms, labs and Wi-Fi. Hostels are clean and have all the basic facilities required by students. The mess food is average but manageable for most students. Overall the campus is green, peaceful, and provides a great learning environment.
Faculty: Most faculty are qualified and helpful. Although teaching styles differ. The curriculum gives a good theoretical foundation but students should learn extra skills on their own. Semester exams are moderately difficult and require regular preparation. Students who attend classes and study consistently can pass without much trouble.
Other: NIT Calicut offers excellent value for the fees paid. The education quality, placement, and campus are worth the investment. Students also get opportunities through clubs. Overall, it is a good choice compared to many private colleges.

Review of NIT Calicut - National Institute of Technology.
Placements: 90% of students are placed. The remaining students want to pursue higher studies. The highest package is 63 LPA, and the lowest package is 6 LPA. Top recruitment is from Oracle, Myntra, and Meesho. Around 60% of students got internships from Oracle, Flipkart, Axis Bank, ICICI Bank, and NHAI.
Infrastructure: We have a big library, which has five floors. Every study material is provided. Students can either take books to their rooms or study there. It is fully air-conditioned, which makes the environment very comfortable. We have many computer labs and several buildings for classrooms, which are very good for students. Our hostel, MHB2, is one of the best hostels with a very good Wi-Fi connection.
Faculty: Teachers are well qualified and have immense talent in explaining concepts to students. Our course curriculum is similar to that of IIT Madras, which is why we are among the best. It makes students industry-ready. There is not much difference in learning quality, but semester exams are tough in NITC.
Other: I want to become a software engineer, so I pursued this course. Even leaving NIT Warangal, NIT Trichy, and a few IITs. The best part is the malls and friendships. Every event feels like a big celebration, and big celebrities come for the fests.

I feel quite satisfied.
Placements: Genuinely, my course is Production Engineering. It is considered a lower branch, but still, a good number of placements are continuing. Around 80% placement for the year 2025–26. I do not know the exact number of recruiting companies, but companies are visiting. A CGPA cutoff is applied for IT sector placements.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is somewhat okay for the first few years. There are generally 3 hostels. Our hostel needs some improvement, but we can somehow adjust to the facilities. The library is good. In terms of games, we have the freedom to play any sport when we are free.
Faculty: Undoubtedly, professors are the best. Their knowledge is excellent. Their lectures are very important. Honestly, the semester exams are somewhat tough, but the curriculum is relevant. We learn many things. For end-of-semester exams, we have to study more.

This is NIT better than other universities.
Placements: At NIT the placement is very strong, a large number of students get placed in companies. Depending on their branch and conditions, the lowest package is at 3 LPA-4 LPA. The top recruiting companies are Google, Microsoft, etc. The same goes for internships, many of the students secure a job during their internships.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure is decent. The classrooms have basic facilities, departmental labs are also well-equipped, and a well-stocked central library. Wi-Fi is available across the campus. Hostel facilities are average to good with basic amenities like water, electricity, and Wi-Fi.
Faculty: Faculty is helpful, qualified, and knowledgeable. Many professors have Ph.D. and research backgrounds. The teaching quality is good, though this varies from professor to professor. The course curriculum is relevant and regularly updated. They prepare and teach well for work in industry.

Satisfied because of the faculties, events, and fests in 2025, and the good infrastructure.
Placements: In civil engineering, around 80% of the students who register for the placements get placed. The highest package is around 34 LPA and the lowest was 3.5 LPA. Larsen & Toubro, JK Cements, HPCL, BPCL etc. are the top recruiters from civil. Most of the students who do well in their academics get internships assisted by the institute in prominent companies of the core sector. Structural engineer, surveyor, and offshore engineering are the top roles offered by this course.
Infrastructure: The academic facilities are really good with top-class facilities and labs for practical sessions. The students have the opportunity to upskill their abilities. The hostel facilities and infrastructure are amazing. They provide high-quality food and facilities. The campus has Wi-Fi facilities, a study hall, and a world-class library. The campus has its own medical centre to look after the health of the students. Here they give high importance to sports and games. We have inter-NIT competitions for sports.
Faculty: We are guided by high-grade faculty members, who are graduates from top institutions in the world. They help us master each subject, assist us in projects, and clear our doubts without any hesitation. The course curriculum has been designed brilliantly, which helps us master the concepts in our core field and makes us ready to run an enterprise. The exam level also stays high with application-level questions that increase our problem-solving skills. The pass percentage in exams is around 90%.
Other: I chose this course due to my interest in the civil sector, which is a core sector that can give me wide opportunities. The course provides flexibility to go for higher studies in any field you like. It would be better to add more practical sessions rather than having only theoretical subjects, which would make us industry-ready. Our technical fest Tathva and cultural fest Ragam are considered the biggest fests in South India, which is the pride of our institution.

Getting admission in NIT Calicut with just Class 12 marks are not enough. The selection process for UG courses is through entrance tests only. For BTech, counselling is required too. Though 75% in Class 12 meets the minimum eligibility, it is not enough for admissions.
