The National Testing Agency conducted the NIFT Entrance Examination. The NIFTEE 2025 experienced a strong response from the aspiring candidates across the country. The NIFT Statistics 2025 was released along with the Final Result of NIFT 2025 on June 22, 2025. NTA released statistics related to Stage 1 and Stage 2 examinations. In this article, we will have a closer look at the number of students who registered and appeared for the NIFT Examination under different categories, gender and stages of the exam for NIFT UG and PG programmes.
17,974 candidates registered for NTA NIFTEE 2025 Stage 1 Examination and appeared for GAT and CAT. This resulted in a total of 33,877 test entries for both the shifts (GAT and CAT). The total number of entries recorded is 31,061. The overall attendance for Stage 1 (GAT and GAT) was marked as 91.69%.

NIFTEE 2025 Stage 1 Examination: UG and PG programs
Stage 1 examination was conducted on February 09, 2025, for various undergraduates and graduate programs. Also, there was no second stage examination for the Bachelor of Fashion Technology (B.F.Tech.) programme. The allotment of seats will be based on:
- Choice opted at the time of counseling registration (academic programs + campuses)
- The category of the candidate
- Seat intake in the college opted for admission
- NIFT 2025 merit rank of the candidate.
NIFT 2025 seat allotment process will be conducted in four regular and one spot rounds.
The 1st round of seat allotment will be declared around the 3rd week of June 2025. .
The counseling registration will be conducted in May 2025.
The NIFT exam is among the competitive and is also considered among the toughest. So, it is recommended that the candidate starts their exam preparation early. NIFT exam has various components like written exam and Situation Test /Personal Interview. Candidates seeking admission to the B. Des and M.Des courses need to prepare for both the CAT and GAT. The CAT is a drawing-based exam. Now unless the candidate is already well-versed, the exam will be very difficult. So, start early. The same goes for the GAT.

Other important Statistics related to NIFT 2025 Stage 1
- There were 81 city coordinators and 109 Observers to oversee the NIFTEE Examination.
- NIFT Provisional Answer Key 2025 was out on February 15, 2025, and the deadline to submit challenges was till February 17, 2025. 283 challenges were received for 171 unique questions.
- 14,586 Answer Sheets were scanned and evaluated using double evaluation for the NIFT CAT Examination.
- NIFTEE Stage 1 Results were declared on April 24, 2025. Candidates were shortlisted in a 1:4 ratio, category-wise and programme-wise.
NIFTEE Stage 2 Examination 2025
NIFTEE Stage 2 comprises NIFT Situation Test/ NIFT Studio Test and NIFT Personal Interview. A Personal Interview was conducted for PG programmes like M.Des, MFM and M.F.Tech on May 26 to June 03, 2025. The Call Letter for the same was issued on May 21, 2025.

NIFTEE Stage 2: NIFT Skill Test for UG Programmes
The NIFT Stage 2 examination for the UG Exams was conducted on June 08, 2025, in 18 cities across 26 centres.
On the day of the NIFT written exam, the candidate must bring with them
- NIFT admit card
- A valid photo ID proof
- HB Pencils, Eraser, Sharpener, Dry Colours
Items which are not allowed inside the exam venue are Water bottle, Papers, Notes, Books, Calculator, Electronic gadgets, Mobile phone, Bag, Handbag, Correction marker/ white fluid.
NIFT situation test will evaluate the candidate on Colour scheme, Space visualization, Construction skill, Finesse of the model, Composition of elements, Overall presentation, Innovative and creative use of given material, etc. The Situation Test will be evaluated on the spot. Also, the model made by the candidate will not be preserved for future reference. The candidate must make sure that their model is unique and stands out from the crowd. After making the model, the candidate must make a write-up explaining the model.
Candidates will be provided with the items for making the model during the NIFT Situation Test. Materials that students may be provided with are Glaze Papers, Plasticine Clay, Copper Wire, Ivory Sheets, Cardboard, Thermocol (thick And Thin), Kite Papers, Handmade Sheet, Coloured Clay, Cellophane, Fabric, Thread, Ribbon, Straw, Aluminum Foil, etc. The candidate can not use any other items except the ones provided in the exam hall.
- B Des.: Situation Test (Model Making)
- B.Des. (Lateral Entry): Studio Test + Personal Interview
- M. F.Tech. (Lateral Entry): Technical Ability Test (TAT, OMR-based) + Personal Interview
- B. Des. (Artisan): Artisan Skill Test + Personal Interview
10,869 students registered for the stage 2 examination, out of which 8,859 appeared. The attendance for the UG Stage 2 examination was 81.51%.
