NIFT admissions is a three tiered process. In order to secure admission in the colleges accepting NIFT scores for admission, aspirants need to appear for NIFT written entrance exam followed by Situation Test/Group Discussion/Personal Interview round.
NIFT Entrance Exam is usually conducted in month of January/February and the result for NIFT written entrance exam is usually declared in the month of February/ March each year. The successive admission rounds for NIFT admissions are held in April-May and the final admission list is announced in the month of May/June each year.

The next feature of the tool allows students to know the college cut-offs for their preferred NIFT. Candidates can also use this tool to predict the college in which they can secure admission depending on their preferred design course.
In this article, candidates are offered a step-by-step guide on how to use Shiksha’s NIFT 2018 College Predictor Tool. Some features of the college predictor tool of NIFT are as mentioned below:
FIND COLLEGE AND BRANCH: To use this feature of the tool, aspirants need to enter their rank/predicted rank. Thereafter, candidates need to select their category from – General, SC, ST, OBC Non-Creamy, General Domicile, SC Domicile, ST Domicile and OBC Domicile Non-Creamy. After filling all these entries, the candidate has to click on the ‘Search’ button. The first time an aspirant clicks on the search button, he/she is provided with a list of 15 colleges where they are eligible for admission. Thereafter, students are given an option to ‘Load more results’ as well. By clicking on this link another 15 colleges are added to the already displayed list.
As part of the search results, students are provided with information of the college, branch (specialisation), location as well as closing rank. Apart from this, candidates can also download the brochure of the college in which they are eligible for admission.
KNOW COLLEGE CUT-OFFS: Through this tool candidates can know the category-wise cut-off for different NIFTs. To know the cut-offs, students need to select their preferred college from the drop down. Aspirants are informed that they can select more than one college in the preferred college field. Next, students need to select the category to which they belong. After filling these details, one need to click on the ‘Search’ button. The NIFT College Predictor Tool provides students with 15 results basis the fields filled by them. If any student wants to view more colleges then they simply need to click on the ‘Load more results’ link present towards the bottom of the list. Details that students are provided as part of this tool are the College Name, Branch Name, Location and Closing Rank (till which admission is offered) in the NIFT college listed.
FIND COLLEGE FOR A BRANCH: By using this feature of the tool, candidates can select their preferred design specialisation/course and thereafter find out the college in which they are eligible for admission. To use this feature of the NIFT College Predictor Tool, candidates need to select their preferred branch. Here, aspirants can select more than one branch from the drop-down provided to them. Next, students need to enter their rank/predicted rank and select their category. After filling all these fields, candidates need to click on the ‘Search’ button. Once this step is completed, aspirants are provided with a list of 15 college options. Details provided to students as part of this tool include Branch Name, College Name, Location and Closing Rank.
NIFT 2018 College Predictor Tool helps to Compare Colleges
As part of this newly launched tool, students are offered an opportunity to view details of the colleges in which they are eligible for admission basis their NIFT rank. Candidates can download the brochure of the college in which they are interested to secure admission. Apart from this, aspirants can also compare colleges in which they are eligible for admission as per the information provided by NIFT College Predictor Tool of Shiksha.
To compare colleges, aspirants need to check the ‘Add to Compare’ box mentioned next to name of each college. Candidates can compare maximum of four colleges at one time. After selecting the colleges for compare, aspirants need to click on the ‘Compare’ button mentioned at the bottom of the page.
