SVMCM 2025 Scholarship Eligibility for MTech
SVMCM scholarship can be applied by candidates studying in regular mode in class XI, XII, and at undergraduate level in science/arts or commerce, engineering, medical and other technical or professional courses. PG level students pursuing science, commerce, arts or technical or management can also apply. SVMCM scholarship will be offered to deserving students on merit-cum-means criteria.
For students who want to pursue MTech or candidates who do want to take admission through GATE scores can avail this scholarship. For such, applicants must have graduated with a minimum qualifying mark of 55% in graduation from any state university/AICTE-approved institute in West Bengal with no year gap. Also, they must be a domicile of West Bengal.
What is SVMCM scholarship amount for MTech students?
Candidates willing to pursue MTech will receive a scholarship amount of INR 5000/- monthly to cover their expenses. The payment will be done by direct beneficiary transfer only. Candidates must provide their bank details correctly mentioning their bank account number, bank name, IFSC code, etc.

You can apply for two GATE papers (maximum). While filling out the GATE application form, you need to select the primary and secondary paper. The GATE secondary paper must be from the subject list prescribed by the GATE authorities. Before adding the paper, go through the subject combination list and GATE paper codes.
Candidates opting for two GATE papers will have to pay double the fees mentioned -
For example,
- If a general category candidate is applying for two GATE papers, then he/she has to pay a fee of INR 4000 (during the regular timeline) and INR 5000 (during the extended period).
- The same applies to the female, SC, ST, and PwD category candidates, INR 2000 (during the regular time period) and INR 3000 (during the extended period).
Qualifying mark of GATE exam usually varies every year depending on certain factors. Candidates can refer to expected cutoff based on last year's trends

How to apply for Swami Vivekananda Merit-cum-Means Scholarship for MTech Students?
Mode of SVMCM scholarship application form is online. Candidates must go through instructions and guidelines carefully before applying. Check process to apply for SVMCM Scholarship 2025 below-
- Online registration - First, candidates must fill and submit online application form. After submission, an Applicant ID of 15 characters will be generated. Candidates must login and complete remaining steps. They have to select from Topper or Non-Topper option.
Note: Candidates must download their registration slip and keep application ID and password safe for future responses. The ID will be sent to candidate’s registered email ID
- Filling application - Students must login and fill rest of details and upload required documents following guidelines. Image and signature must be in JPEG or JPG format and should be between 20 to 50 KB and 10 to 20 KB, respectively.
- Uploading documents - Here candidates must upload all necessary documents. All documents must be in PDF form and should not exceed more than 400 KB.

Note: In uploaded document form, select the Competant Authority (BDO/SDO/Jt.BDO/BLRO (Panchayat Area), Executive Officer, Finance Officer, Education Officer in case of municipality, Commissioner /Dy.Com/Municipal Secretary in case of Corporation Area, G.R-A Gazetted Officer) whom income certificate is issued from.
- Submission of application form -Once all documents are uploaded, preview and submit to complete application process.
Note: Candidates cannot edit their details after submission. However, if anyone want to change or edit their bank details or documents can approach concerned HOI for modification. They will unlock application form and students will be then able to edit their details.
