TNEA application form 2024 will be released by the Directorate of Technical Education (DoTE) Chennai on the official website. The TNEA counselling schedule will be published on the official website. The eligible candidates can register for TNEA 2024 counselling within the given timelines. Before filling out the TNEA application form 2024, candidates are advised to check the eligibility criteria as prescribed by the conducting authority. The application process involves TNEA registration, application fee payment, filling in academic details, and taking a printout of the filled-in application form.

To be eligible for TNEA 2024, candidates have to pass the qualifying examination i.e. 10+2 or intermediate, and other eligibility criteria as prescribed by the authority. Candidates who have successfully registered for admission will be allotted a random number. The authority will send random numbers will to the candidates through SMS in August. After signing in, the candidates can also view their Random Numbers. To participate in the TNEA 2024 counselling process, candidates have to submit the TNEA application form 2024 within the prescribed timelines.

TNEA Application Form 2024 - Steps

The detailed application procedure has been explained below:

Step 1 - TNEA 2024 registration

On the registration page, candidates have to enter their name, email ID, password generation, nationality, nativity, religion, community, whether you have studied from 8th to 12th standard in Tamil Nadu or not, date of birth, mobile number, gender, qualifying number, the month of passing, year of passing.

An OTP will be sent to the candidate’s registered mobile number. After submitting the OTP and previewing the details, candidates have to click on the ‘register’ button. After registration, candidates will be sent their user ID in their registered mobile number.

Q:   What is the TNEA application fee?
A:

The application fee for TNEA is INR 500 for the general candidates and INR 250 for SC /SCA /ST category belonging to Tamil Nadu.

Q:   What are the requirements to apply for TNEA?
A:

To apply for TNEA 2026, candidates have to meet the below requirements: Candidates must have passed the 10+2 exam with a minimum of 45% marks (40% for reserved category candidates). They should have passed the 10+2 exam from Tamil Nadu board or any equivalent board. They must have cleared any one of the HSC (Vocational Subject) with one of the Engineering related subjects namely Mathematics, Physics or Chemistry. Apart from that, they following requirements must be also met: Tamil Nadu candidates who have passed their Class VIII to Class XII standard in Tamil Nadu. Children of Central Government Employees, irrespective of their nativity, provided their parents or guardians (only if both parents are not alive) have been serving in Tamil Nadu continuously for the past five years at the time of TNEA application form submission. Sons/daughters of All India Service Tamil Nadu cadre officers. Children of employees in the Public Sector or Government recognised institutions who at the time of TNEA 2026 application form submission had been working in their organisations for the past five years are also eligible to apply, irrespective of their domicile. Other state candidates who have studied from Class VIII to Class XII in Tamil Nadu can also apply for TNEA 2026. Tamil Nadu native candidates who have passed any of the VIII, IX, X, XI and XII standards or their equivalent examinations from schools situated outside Tamil Nadu can also apply for TNEA.

 Note:

  • The name should be entered as in class 10th /12th mark sheet
  • Candidates have to enter his/her e-mail address for 'User ID'. If the candidate does not have an e-mail address, then an e-mail address has to be created and the same for the user ID. In case, they do not have an email and if not in a position to create one immediately, use their parent's email ID. This e-mail address shall be treated as the candidate’s login user ID and registered an e-mail address to which all communications are sent
  • The mobile number entered here will be treated as your registered mobile number
  • The password should contain a minimum of 8 characters in at least one capital, one numerical and one special character
  • Details entered here cannot be modified later, hence enter the details correctly before confirming
  • Candidates have to remember their User ID (e-mail address) and password because this will be used during the process of application, payment, choice entry and allotment

Step 2 - Login

After receiving the user ID and password, candidates have to log in using their ID and password to enter details in the application form.

Step 3 - Filling out personal details

After payment of fees, the candidates will have to fill in the required information. All of the submitted details should be valid and according to the documents possessed by the candidates.

Step 4 - Fill special reservation information

Next, the candidates will have to fill in the required information related to special reservations such as sports, ex-servicemen, and differently able people.

Step 5 - TNEA application fee

In this step, candidates have to pay the application fees through online mode only. The payment can be made through debit/net banking/ credit card.

The demand draft will be accepted only at the TNEA  Facilitation Centres (TFC) and should be drawn in favour of “The Secretary, TNEA" payable at Chennai.

 For other state candidates, only online payment will be applicable.

Step 6 - Filling of scholarship details

After entering the above details, candidates must enter scholarship details and click on the ‘Save and Preview' button. Before proceeding further, candidates can edit/modify any details entered in the application form or click on ‘confirm’ and move to the next step.

Step 7 - School of study information

Complete information about the candidates' 7th to 12th standard has to be provided by the candidates. Click on Save and Proceed to move to the next step

Step 8 - Academic details

In the next step, candidates have to submit all the educational qualifications, such as their 10th and 12th class marks, passing year, board name, roll number, and other important details of the qualifying examination.

Step 9 - Additional information

Here candidates have to provide additional information such as mother tongue, their medium of instruction, parent's occupation, and other important details.

Step 10 - Preview/submit an application

The preview of the filled application form will be displayed and after checking for any mistakes, the candidates will have to submit it.

Step 11 - Submission and printout of TNEA 2024 application form

After submitting academic details, candidates have to take a printout of the application form for further admission process.

The authorities will also send a copy of the filled TNEA application form 2023 to the candidate’s registered email address.
