What does VITEEE 2026 Eligibility include?
The VIT exam eligibility comprises age limit, nationality, educational qualification, state of eligibility, qualifying exam in VITEEE, etc. Interested candidates must meet the eligibility requirements for VIT BTech exam. The following eligibility criteria of VITEEE exam implies for all four campuses - Vellore, Chennai, AP, and Bhopal. Read below to know more-
VITEEE Eligibility Criteria: Nationality
- Applicant must be a resident/non-resident Indian national/OCI/PIO holder
- NRI applicants must apply under “NRI category” in VITEEE application form
Age-Limit for VITEEE 2026 Exam
- Candidate’s date of birth must fall on or after July 1, 2004
- The date of birth mentioned in the high school certificate will be considered for admission.
Qualifying Examination Criteria for VITEEE Exam
Candidates appearing for VITEEE must have either completed or shall be appearing in any of the following qualifying exams in 2026 -
- 10+2 final exam or equivalent conducted by CBSE/any state board/ or any other board
- An Intermediate or two-year pre-university exam conducted by recognised board or university
- Qualified in GCE examination (London/Sri Lanka/Cambridge) at an advanced level
- High school certificate examination of Cambridge University/Pearson Edexcel by UK for PCM-

- SSC examination conducted by National Institute of Open Schooling with a minimum of 5 subjects as recognised by the central board.
- Students who have qualified their class 12th outside India have to provide their equivalent certificate with grade/CGPA converted into percentage.

VITEEE Eligibility Criteria: Requirements in Qualifying Examination
For PCM/PCMB/PCM applicants -
- Candidates willing to apply for VITEEE UG programmes must have secured a minimum of 60% in Physics, Mathematics, and Chemistry
- Qualifying marks must not be less than 50% in mathematics (+2/HSC/Intermediate)
- Must have 60% in Biology/ Chemistry/Physics with no less than 50% marks in Biology
For SC/ST and students from J&K/Ladakh and other North-Eastern states
- Must have passed with 50% in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics/Biology in the qualifying examination.
| North-Eastern States include: Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim, and Tripura. Students falling under the above category must submit their community/nativity certificate at the time of VITEEE counselling. |
VITEEE Admission Eligibility Criteria at VIT Campuses
- PCM or PCMB applicants who have attempted Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, English, and Aptitude (MPCEA) in VITEEE entrance test and meet all the above criteria will be eligible for admission to all BTech programmes.
- On the other hand, PCMB/PCB applicants who have attempted Biology, Physics, Chemistry, English and Aptitude in VITEEE 2026 exam are eligible for admission to the following programmes -

VITEEE 2026 Criteria: State of Eligibility
VITEEE state of eligibility denotes the code of state where the applicant has completed his/her class 12th or qualifying examination. The VITEEE state code of eligibility does not necessarily depend on the native place or residence.
- If a candidate has passed 12th from one state but appeared for improvement from another state, then the state code of eligibility will be the first state, where the candidate has passed 12th first.
- Students who have appeared multiple board exams in the same academic year will not be eligible for VIT exam.
Candidates must go through the eligibility carefully before applying. Check VITEEE exam dates and prepare for the entrance test.
How many attempts for VITEEE in a year?
In one academic year, students can attempt only once. Candidates have to book their exam slot at the time of VITEEE exam slot booking. The slot booking facility will be made available at the VITEEE OTBS portal.
