Vellore Institute of Technology has released VITEEE 2026 qualifying exam list. Students must have passed with a minimum of 60% marks in mathematics, physics, and chemistry and with not less than 50% marks in maths in the qualifying exam (+2/HSC/Intermediate). Read below for more.

List of qualifying exams for VITEEE 2026: The Vellore Institute of Technology has released the qualifying exam list for VITEEE. Candidates who want to apply for VIT exam 2026 must be aware of the qualifying exams, as it comes under the VIT exam eligibility criteria category. 

List of qualifying exams for VITEEE

VITEEE 2026 registrations are ongoing. Candidates who want to apply can visit the official website- viteee.vit.ac.in and submit their application form before the due date. The VITEEE 2026 registration last date is March 31. The authorities have released VITEEE exam date 2026 along with a tentative mock test and slot booking schedule. 

Applicants who are interested to register for VITEEE 2026 must be aware of the list of qualifying exams. It is because, based on VIT qualifying exams, candidates’ application form will be accepted for further admission process. Read below for more -

What are qualifying exams for VITEEE?

The qualifying exams in VIT exam refer to the 10+2 higher secondary board examination or equivalent that the candidate has passed or is appearing for. The authorities have mentioned a complete list of exams that meet the VITEEE 2026 eligibility criteria. Candidates must go through the details along with age-limit and educational qualification details in order to submit their form with no discrepancies.

List of qualifying exams for VITEEE

Candidates can check the list of qualifying exams for Vellore Institute of Technology Engineering Entrance Exam (VITEEE). Applicants appearing for VIT exam, must have either completed or shall be appearing in any of the following qualifying exam - 

  • The final exam of 10+2, conducted by any recognised central/state board, such as CBSE, New Delhi; Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations or any other Board accepted by VIT that is equivalent to 10+2 exam. 
  • Intermediate or two-year pre- university examination conducted by the recognised board/university. 
  • General Certificate Education (GCE) - London/Sri Lanka/Cambridge at the Advanced (A) Level.
  • High School Certificate Examination of the Cambridge University/Pearson Edexcel regulated by UK for PCM at following levels -
    • Physics and Mathematics: A-Level
    • Chemistry - A/AS Level
    • English  - A/AS Level

  • Senior Secondary School Examination conducted by the National Institute of Open Schooling with a minimum 5 subjects as recognised by the central board.

Qualifying Exams List for VITEEE for candidates who have completed their class 12th outside India

For candidates who have completed their class 12th outside India must produce an equivalent certificate stating that they have passed their 12th class exam with a grade/CGPA converted to CGPA.

  • Applicants who have studied their 12th in regular mode or full-time are eligible to apply for VIT exam. 
  • Candidates who have appeared on multiple board exams in the same year are not eligible.

Eligibility Requirements for Qualifying Examination for VITEEE 2026

In correspondence with qualifying exams for VITEEE, candidates must be qualified for admission to collegiate education. 

  • Students must have passed with a minimum of 60% marks in mathematics, physics, and chemistry and with not less than 50% marks in mathematics in the qualifying exam (+2/HSC/Intermediate)
  • Students must have passed with a minimum of 60% marks in biology, physics, and chemistry and with not less than 50% marks in biology in the qualifying exam (+2/HSC/Intermediate)
  • Candidates must have passed with 50% in physics, chemistry, mathematics/biology in the qualifying examination (+2/HSC/Intermediate) for the following categories -
    • SC/ST category
    • Candidates from Jammu and Kashmir/Ladakh and the Northeastern states - Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim, and Tripura. Such candidates must submit their community/nativity certificate at the time of counselling. 

Candidates meeting all the above criteria will be eligible to apply for the VIT exam. It is advised to go through the information brochure carefully. Candidates can access the registration link at VITEEE login 2026

No, Vellore Institute of Technology does not accept JEE Main scores for BTech admission. Candidates must register and appear for VITEEE exam.

No, admission to VIT Group of Institutions strictly requires qualifying VITEEE exam. Hence, it is mandatory to appear for VIT BTech exam and qualify for it.

No, 75% is not required for VITEEE. The minimum qualifying mark is 60% marks in physics, mathematics and chemistry. On the other hand, for SC/ST, Jammu and Ladakh and North-Eastern states, the minimum qualifying mark is 50%.

Candidates who have completed their slot booking will be able to download VITEEE 2026 admit card. The admit card will be available on the official website- viteee.vit.ac.in. The admit card will be available at VITEEE OTBS portal within 48 hours of slot booking.

VITEEE mock test is expected to be released tentatively in March 2026. Candidates who have registered for exam can take mock tests for free. VITEEE mock test will help students to practice and understand what type of question asked in exam.

VIT merit list is prepared based on candidate's performance in Vellore Institute of Technology Engineering Entrance Exam (VITEEE). To prepare merit list, percentile score is evaluated as exam is conducted in multiple sessions to ensure fairness among papers.

Candidates have to pay a fee to participate in the counselling process of VITEEE. They have to pay the counselling fee of INR 5900. This fee is non-refundable. This fee will be remitted on the declaration of results.
