As per the latest VITEEE exam pattern 2026 changes, negative marking has been introduced this year (2026-27). The Vellore Institute of Technology has revised VITEEE 2026 marking scheme along with VITEEE registration 2026-27 and brochure. According to new changes in VITEEE exam-
- -1 mark will now be deducted for an incorrect response.
- 4 marks will be given for each correct answer.
- Each question in VITEEE will have four options, out of which one will be correct.
- Candidates will have to attempt questions within stipulated time (2 hours and 30 minutes).
NOTE: To understand marking scheme more closely, the institute will release VITEEE BTech mock test in March (expected), so that students will be familiar with the paper pattern and question type asked in exam.
