VIT exam is conducted once a year to offer admission to students in BTech programmes at its campuses: Vellore, Chennai, AP, and Bhopal. The Vellore Institute of Technology conducts VITEEE online on multiple dates to give a chance to achieve a good rank and avail full tuition fee waiver through VITEEE scholarships. The question paper comprises questions from Physics, Chemistry, Maths, Aptitude, and English.
Based on VITEEE scores, admissions will be given to BTech courses offered at VIT campuses in India.

As per revised VITEEE exam pattern, the marking scheme is as follows-
- For each correct answer, 4 marks are awarded
- For an incorrect response, -1 mark will be deducted
Yes, VIT has introduced negative marking scheme in VITEEE 2026-27 admissions. Now, students will get -1 mark for every wrong attempt. However, for each correct answer, 4 marks will be awarded.
VITEEE exam has 125 questions in total. All questions are objective-type and incorrect responses include negative marking. Candidates have to complete their exam in 2 hours and 30 minutes. The section-wise distribution of questions can be checked below -
