No, VIT and VITEEE are entirely different. VIT represents the institution, which is otherwise called as Vellore Institute of Technology. What is JEE Main examination?

Every year, around 10-12 lakh students appear for the exam, out of which only 2.5 lakh qualify for the next level, i.e JEE Advanced. The exam takes place in two sessions- January and April. Qualifying candidates get admission to engineering/architecture/planning programmes offered in top colleges like NITs, IIITs, GFTIs, etc.
What is VITEEE Examination?
VITEEE, also known as Vellore Institute of Technology Engineering Entrance Exam, is a private entrance exam hosted by VIT University. The exam is conducted once a year to offer admission to BTech programs at VIT campuses: Vellore, Chennai, AP and Bhopal. The entrance test is held on multiple dates (shift-wise) and every year around 2.3 to 2.5 lakh candidates appear for the exam.

While both exam have questions from Physics, Mathematics/Biology, and Chemistry, JEE Main questions are of more advanced level. The rank needed for admission at VIT Bhopal would depend on the category and chosen branch.
For the General AI category, the round 1 cutoff ranged from 50000 to 100000. Hence, the highest rank acceptable was 100000. Please know that other categories, rounds, etc., will have different cutoffs.
