SSC GD Constable exam is a national level exam conducted by the Staff Selection Commission (SSC). The SSC GD selection process comprises three stages. This three-stage selection process for SSC GD Constable is shared below-

• SSC GD Computer-Based Exam - CBE
• Physical Efficiency Test (PET)/ Physical Standard Test (PST)

The SSC GD full form is Staff Selection Commission General Duty. The complete exam name is SSC GD Constable recruitment, which is a yearly exam conducted at the national level. The Staff Selection Commission released the SSC GD 2026 notification on December 1, 2025. The final SSC GD merit list along with force allocation is prepared by the Commission based on the performance of candidates in the CBE and preference of force opted by them subject to their qualification of the PET/ PST, DME and DV. The SSC GD exam is the basis for preparation of the merit list. The SSC GD PET/ PST and DME/ DV is qualifying in nature.

The SSC GD Constable exam carries a total of 160 marks. The SSC GD exam (CBE) comprises a total of 80 questions of 2 marks each. Candidates are awarded +2 marks for each correct answer in the SSC GD Constable exam. Candidates get to know the correct answers from the official SSC GD answer key. However, only correct answers are not counted for SSC GD results. There is a negative marking for each incorrect answer marked by candidate.

There are no such repetitive questions in the SSC GD Constable exam. However, the topics and types are generally the same almost every year.
