SSC GD Constable exam is a national level exam conducted by the Staff Selection Commission (SSC). The SSC GD selection process comprises three stages. This three-stage selection process for SSC GD Constable is-

• SSC GD Computer-Based Exam - CBE
• Physical Efficiency Test (PET)/ Physical Standard Test (PST)
• Document Verification (DV)/ Detailed Medical Examination (DME)

The SSC GD full form is Staff Selection Commission General Duty. The complete exam name is SSC GD Constable recruitment, which is a yearly exam conducted at the national level. The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) and the Union Ministry of Home Affairs hold this exam every year for Constable GD, Rifleman GD and Sepoy posts in the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs) and Assam Rifle.

The SSC GD Constable DV/ DME 2025 dates have not been announced yet. However, it is expected that the SSC GD medical exam will start in November 2025. The CRPF will soon announce the dates for the Constable DME exam after the declaration of PET/ PST result.

The final allocation of candidates is done based on the performance of candidates in the CBE and the preference chosen by the candidates. The SSC GD PST/PET and medical examination (DME) are qualifying in nature. Candidates need to get into the SSC GD final merit list to get shortlisted for post allocation.

The SSC GD final result 2025 will be released soon. The SSC GD result will be announced based on the candidates' performance in the CBE, physical test and medical test. The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) declares the SSC GD Constable results at ssc.gov.in, along with the cut-off marks and merit list of candidates shortlisted for appointment in the forces.

The SSC GD Constable 2025 exam will be conducted online in the computer-based exam (CBE) mode. The Staff Selection Commission organises the exam in various exam centres across India. Candidates must be of minimum 18 years of age in order to be eligible for SSC GD exam. The upper SSC GD age limit is 23 years. However, the Commission provides a relaxation in the upper age limit for all the reserved categories such as OBC, SC, ST, ExS and others. The SSC GD exam is conducted online in Computer-Based Examination (CBE) mode. On the other hand, the SSC GD Physical Efficiency Test (PET) and Physical Standard Test (PST) is conducted offline as it involves physical test. The SSC GD physical test is conducted by the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) on behalf of the CAPFs to test the physical eligibility of candidates.

SSC GD syllabus comprises the topics from which questions are asked in the exam. The SSC GD Constable exam is conducted online and comprises 80 questions from:

Yes, there is a negative marking of 0.25 marks for each incorrect answer. The SSC GD exam is an objective type exam conducted online as Computer Based Exam (CBE). The marks assigned for the correct answer is 2 marks and the negative marking is 0.25 marks. No marks are deducted for unattempted questions. There are no such repetitive questions in the SSC GD Constable exam. However, the topics and types are generally the same almost every year. The Commission makes changes in the difficulty level of the same topics asked in the exam. Moreover, the Commission may give more weight to one topic this year and another topic next year. For example, there may be more questions on the number system in 2025, and in 2026, the Mathematics section may include more questions on Algebra. So, Candidates need to prepare all the topics and sections carefully.
