Apart from the CLATAdmit Card,  candidates must carry the following documents to the exam centre:

  • Passport-sized photograph (same as the one uploaded with the application form)
  • A valid photo ID proof (Aadhaar card/ Driving Licence/ PAN Card/ Passport/ Voter ID)

A: 

A good rank in the CLAT exam for general category students is under 1,000–1,500 to secure admission in top-tier National Law Universities (NLUs). A rank under 500 is considered excellent for the top 5 NLUs, while a rank up to 3,000–5,000 can still secure a seat in newer, mid-tier NLUs. 

Q:   What is the CLAT exam duration?
A: 

The CLAT exam duration is two hours for both the Undergraduate and Postgraduate. It will have 120 multiple choice questions. For each correct answer one makrs will be given and -0.25 will be deducted for incorrect ones.

Q:   How many NLUs participate in CLAT Exam?
A: 

As of 2026, 26 National Law Universities (NLUs) participate in the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT). These universities offer undergraduate (UG) and postgraduate (PG) law programs, with over 5,600 seats available in total. NLU Delhi is the only exception, conducting its own entrance exam (AILET) rather than participating in CLAT

How to attempt CLAT 2027 English Language Questions?

When attempting English Language section of CLAT UG 2027 exam, candidates should keep a note of these pointers

  • Read each passage in 5 to 7 minutes with focus and speed

  • Identify main idea or central argument of passage

  • Understand supporting or opposing points linked to main idea

  • Extract details using Who, What, Why, When, Where (5Ws)

  • Track paragraph shifts to spot changes in viewpoint or speaker

  • Pay attention to connectors like however, on the other hand, conversely

  • For vocabulary questions, read 1 to 2 lines before and after word for context

  • Focus on overall structure, not memorising every detail

  • Analyse question wording 

  • Always read all four options before selecting final answer

The CLAT Exam is conducted by consortiumofnlus.ac.in. All those candidates who are looking forward to getting admission at NLUs must appear for the exam. Apart from NLU Delhi, admission to all the NLUs are done through CLAT. 

Q:   What is the duration of CLAT PG exam?

Yes, candidates can admission in BA LLB in Amity University, Raipur without CLAT if they fulfill eligibility criteria. Admission is given based on Class 12 merit. No entrance test is needed.

No, SAGE University, Indore does not accept scores of CLAT-UG for BBA LLB (hons) admissions. All candidates who fulfill SAGE University, Indore BBA LLB (hons) eligibility criteria must appear in SEE in order to qualify for admissions.

Yes, candidates can apply for BA LLB (hons) admissions at SAGE University, Indore without appearing in CLAT-UG. The aforementioned entrance exam is not accepted for BA LLB (hons) at SAGE University, Indore. Instead, selection of candidates is based on merit in Class 12th.

This requirement is for the University of Lucknow BBA LLB course. So yes, admission will be easier if you have a great CLAT 2026 score. General category applicants who score 50% or above can skip the university's local test entirely. For reserved students, this direct entry limit is set at 45% marks

University of Lucknow BA LLB seats can also be won by taking the college's own entry exam. The university organizes its own Undergraduate Entrance Test (UGET) to fill up all remaining law seats. They prepare a clear merit list based strictly on your local exam marks.

Yes, you can join Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham without CLAT. If you have a valid AILET score, you can submit it for BA LLB admission. Otherwise, you can appear for Amrita Law Admission Test (AmLAT).

No, CLAT is not compulsory to get admission in BA LLB at BHU. BHU uses the CUET-UG (Common University Entrance Test) scores conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) for shortlisting students.
