What was the Pattern of the SLAT Exam?
This year, there was a change in the exam pattern of SLAT. As per the new pattern, the number of questions has been reduced from 75 to 60. The time duration of the exam was also reduced from 105 minutes to 90 minutes. Out of 90 minutes, 60 minutes was allotted for the MCQ section and 30 minutes for WAT. Also Read: SLAT syllabus

SLAT Exam Review - July 12, 2021
The author, Shah Nawaz went to one of the SLAT exam centres to understand the difficulty level of the paper from students. Most of the students who appeared for the exam shared the following reviews:
- The question paper was easy compared to the last two days
- Most of the questions were direct and easy to answer
- There was no negative marking and sectional timing
- The overall difficulty level was moderate

- This section was the easiest section compared to all other sections in the paper
- 3 passages appeared which were short in length, direct and easy to answer
- The passages are based on the topics: Rudyard Kipling and Colonialism, the Downsides of modern technological changes on our environment and the Maternity benefit act
General Knowledge
- There were about 7 questions from current affairs and 5 questions from static GK
- Questions were asked from Geography, International Affairs, and History
Analytical Reasoning
The questions were direct and easy. As per the students’ review, those who were good at calculations can easily score marks in this section.

The overall difficulty level of WAT was easy. The questions were based on two topics:
- Topic 1: Does comedy qualify to be protected under the freedom of speech and expression? Discussion of recent events.
- Topic 2: Ban on plastic: Economy vs Ecology

SLAT Exam Review - July 11, 2021
In comparison to July 10, 2021, the question paper was lengthy and challenging. The overall difficulty level was moderate. There was no sectional timing in the exam.

- Topic 1: Use of information and communication technology in the Indian Judicial Process
- Topic 2: Law has unfolded many shades of dignity for women. However, women continue to be within patriarchy, discrimination, and violence.
