The University of Petroleum and Energy Studies (UPES) offers Masters of Business Administration Programme under various specialisations such as Oil & Gas Management, Power Management, Urban Infrastructure & Smart Cities, Start-Up & Entrepreneurship, Human Resource and so forth. Candidates willing to take admission to MBA programme of UPES must appear for the UPESMET exam or must have a valid score in any of the entrance exams like- CAT/MAT/XAT/NMAT/ATMA/CMAT. UPESMET exam is conducted multiple times a year. Registration for UPESMET is open throughout the year. A:

Selection for UPES Dehradun BTech course depends on JEE Main/CUET UG scorecard. Alternatively, 50 percentile in SAT India Score and 75%-80% in Class 12. Or, you can also appear for UPESESAT which is conducted by the university. The eligibility depends on minimum marks of 50% in aggregate for Class 10 and Class 12. The subject combination is as follows: Physics, Chemistry, Maths and English in Class 12. 

Q:   Can I get direct admission in UPES for MBA?
A:

 UPES Dehradun admission to MBA course is based on national or university-evel entrance exams. The university accepts GATE/ CAT/ CUET PG + PI scores for providing admission. In case, an aspirant fails to secure the minimum marks* specified by the university, he or she will need to appear for UPESMET. It is an online entrance exam conducted for a duration of 2.5 hours. UPESMET sections include English, General Awareness, Quantitative Aptitude and Analytical Reasoning. For admission to Global MBA, aspirants only need to come for the PI round. The shortlisted candidates will be called for group discussion and personal interview round for further selection. After completion of the selection rounds, candidates are called for document verification. Aspirants need to pay a course fee to confirm their seat in the university.

What is UPES Admission Process? 

The admission process for UPES is conducted in five steps. Check the detailed admission process below: 

Step 1- Fill the UPESMET application form 

The first step in the admission process is filling of the UPESMET application form. Candidates who are having a valid score in CAT/MAT/XAT/NMAT/ATMA/CMAT must fill the application form. The non-exempted candidates I.e., not having a valid score in any of the national level entrance exams must fill the form for the UPESMET exam.

For successful registration, candidates must create login credentials and fill the complete application form along with the payment of the application fee. Candidates must adhere to the prescribed eligibility criteria before filling in the UPESMET application form, failing which their candidature will stand cancelled. 

Step 2- Take the UPESMET exam 

After successful registration, aspirants will be confirmed about the exam date and slot on their registered email ID or phone number via SMS. Candidates who will not be exempted must appear for the UPESMET exam. The exam is conducted multiple times a year. Candidates can appear for the session at their convenience.  

Q:   Who can apply for MBA course at UPES Dehradun?
A:

Candidates who have passed graduation in any stream along with Class 10 and Class 12 with at least 50% aggregate can apply for MBA course. Apart from meeting the eligiiblity requirement, candidates also need to pass either UPESMET/ CAT/ CUET PG  for admission to MBA course. In case, any aspirant fails to secure the minimum marks* specified by the university, he or she will need to appear for UPESMET. For admission to Global MBA, aspirants only need to come for the PI round. The shortlisted candidates will be called for a personal interview round for further selection. After completion of the selection rounds, aspirants will need to prove their eligibility by provding necessary documents for verification. Aspirants need to pay a course fee to confirm their seat in the university.

Q:   Can I get direct admission in School of Health Sciences and Technology, UPES?
A:

To get admission in School of Health Sciences and Technology, UPES candidates might have to complete multi-step process. Check below the admission steps for UPES:

  1. Application: The mode of application is online. The application fee for BTech, BPharma, MSc, and BSc is  INR 1,350 each.
  2. Selection rounds: The university conducts its own entrance exams for providing admission to specific courses. Apart from these, UPES Dehradun also accepts national-level entrance exams like CUET UG, NEET, JEE Main, etc.
  3. Admission confirmation: After completion of the selection rounds, the shortlisted candidates are called for verification of the documents. Aspirants need to pay course fee to confirm their seat in the university.
Q:   How can I get admission to UPES Dehradun MBA course?
A:

UPES Dehradun admission to MBA course is based on either UPESMET/ CAT/ CUET PG scores. Step 3- Declaration of result 

Soon after the exam is conducted, authorities will declare the UPESMET result online. Candidates will be sent the link to check the result via Email or SMS. Candidates will be able to check their section-wise and overall sore. Candidates who have a valid score will be able to appear for the selection process.  

Step 4- Appear for the Group Discussion/ Personal Interview 

Candidates having a valid score in any of the national level examinations or UPESMET must book their lot for GD/PI and appear for the same. Amid the COVID-19 pandemic, the GD/PI rounds are being conducted in online mode. To book the slot for GD/PI candidates must enter the application number and date of birth. 

Step 5- Attend counselling procedure 

Candidates after attending the GD/PI rounds must appear for the final stage of the admission process. Candidates must carry the necessary documents for the verification process. Check the documents below required: 

  • Printout of UPESMET 2022 result 
  • Scorecard of CAT/MAT/XAT/CMAT/NMAT/GMAT (if any) 
  • Acknowledgement fee receipt 
  • Class 10 mark sheet (original and photocopy) 
  • Class 12 mark sheet (original and photocopy) 
  • Graduation mark sheet (original and photocopy) 
  • Work experience certificate (if applicable) 
  • Migration certificate if applicable 
  • A valid Photo-Identity proof
