Daily Revision
Revising the complete KMAT syllabus in the last week is not feasible. So, list down the important topics from which the questions are most likely to be asked by analyzing the previous years’ question papers. By the last week, you must have been prepared well and would be thorough with the concepts, theorems and formulae. Revisit the concepts and jot down notes while revising so that these concepts are etched in your mind. Focus on your strong suits and practice the weaker areas.
KMAT Karnataka exam will be held in the home-based remote proctored mode. Candidates can now take the exam from the safe environment of their homes. They do not have to choose the exam city and visit any KMAT exam centre in order to take the exams. They can fill the KMAT application form online and take the remote proctored online exam through the link given to the candidates on the exam day or as mentioned in their KMAT admit card. This year, the exam will likely be held in the month of November 2024.
The KMAT exam was earlier conducted in paper-based test mode. But due to the COVID-19 outbreak, in 2021 and 2022, the exam was conducted in internet-based test mode.
Attempt One Final Mock Test
Practice at least one KMAT mock test in the last week before the exam keeping in mind the sectional and overall timings of the KMAT exam. This will help you boost your confidence and help in preparing you for the exam day. Do not base your preparation completely on the mock test. Note the areas and questions where you have not scored well and practice them separately. This will also give you an idea of what not to do in the exam. The level of the KMAT question paper is easy to moderate. Hence, do not stress if you do not score well in the KMAT mock test. Candidates must also appear for the official KMAT mock test which is scheduled to be conducted on November 1, 2023, and November 2, 2023.
Go Through Previous Years’ KMAT Question Papers
Spend one to two hours analyzing the previous years’ KMAT question papers to know which topics are usually asked in the exam and which are the important ones. Solving the previous years’ question papers will not only acquaint you with the kind of topics but also help you improve your speed and help in understanding the difficulty level of questions. The exam pattern of the KMAT question paper usually remains the same. There are 120 multiple-choice questions in total carrying one mark each.
Do Not Start a New Topic
Do not start a new chapter or a new topic when only a week is left for the KMAT exam. Starting a new topic just a few days before the exam will take a huge chunk of your precious time and may also lead you confused and ill-prepared for the topic. The last thing you need a few days before the exam is to be stressed.
Preparing for KMAT Karnataka requires discipline and focus. Here are some tips which will help you prepare for the KMAT exam at home:
- Using the KMAT syllabus as a guide, make a list of the subjects that the study materials must cover.
- Plan your study time on a monthly, weekly, and daily basis according to the time available.
- Analyze previous KMAT tests to note important topics.
- Start reading newspaper and magazine editorials to gain a command of the verbal skill section.
- For the quantitative section, read the basic concepts and formulas from school textbooks.
- Examine your progress through mock tests on a monthly basis.
- Keep analyzing and improving your score over time until test day.
- Set your score to meet the cutoff for the college to which you want to apply.
Focus on Solving Tricks and Shortcuts
Spend some time on shortcuts to solving the questions in the KMAT question paper. KMAT is a time-based exam, hence you should try to make the optimum utilization of time by not wasting time doing rough work. Memorize formulae, theorems, tables, squares, square roots, cubes, cube roots, etc. for the Quantitative Skills section. Read regularly till the day of the exam to help you with the RCs in the Verbal Skills section, and for the Analytical Reasoning section practice as many questions as you can.
