MAT exam analysis 2026 - MAT CBT 2026 exam for September session was conducted by AIMA today. Overall, the paper was easy like September PBT and sessions prior to that. Candidates who appeared in the MAT September CBT said that they could attempt maximum number of questions in all five sections. A few questions seemed time consuming which could be skipped. Here’s a brief discussion of MAT 2026 exam analysis for CBT.
MAT CBT exam was of 120 minutes and there was no sectional time limit. Each of the five sections had 30 questions. For the MAT CBT paper, candidates found 150 minutes enough as maximum questions were direct and easy to comprehend. All the questions of MAT exam 2026 were in MCQ format; there was no TITA questions as always.

MAT has 2 sections which are completely Maths based – Mathematical Skills and Data Interpretation, so it is not possible to crack MAT without having a good control over this subject.
It depends on the candidate's knowledge of MAT syllabus and whether they have appeared for the exam before or not. Someone who has prior experience of MAT will need about 4 hours daily to prepare as they will mainly need to do revision and practice mock tests. Those who are starting MAT preparation from the scratch, then they will need about 6-8 hours daily.
The overall difficulty level of MAT is easy to moderate. Despite having 150 questions, the test paper is usually doable and candidates can easily attempt 100-120 questions.
Yes, MAT exam is MCQ types. There are no subjective type or TITA questions. Every question carries 4 answer options. Candidates have to select one option as correct answer.

MAT syllabus is not very difficult but it is not easy either. The topics included in MAT syllabus are same as that of other MBA entrance exams like English, Quants, Reasoning, DI and GK. MAT is conducted in February, May, September and December. You can appear for it whenever ready and confident of scoring high. Yes, for some of them. Bahra lists scholarships based on JEE Main marks and CLAT rank, along with BUSET, CAT, MAT, and CUET percentile scores. I am not sure about NEET, so confirm that with the admissions office.
