TS ICET Results 2026: Grading and Evaluation

TGCHE follows a structured methodology to determine candidate performance.

  • Individual scores are first calculated based on the TS ICET final answer key.
  • Every correct answer adds 1 mark to the total; no points are deducted for wrong answers.
  • This raw score is then processed through a normalisation formula to account for varying difficulty levels across different exam shifts.
  • In instances where multiple candidates have the same score, a tie-breaking protocol is initiated.
  • The final rank serves as the primary metric for securing admission into participating MBA/MCA colleges.

TG ICET Score Normalisation Process Explained

Because the TS ICET is held over two days in multiple sessions, some papers might be harder than others. Normalization ensures that no candidate is disadvantaged by their specific test slot. It uses a mathematical formula to bring everyone onto a level playing field.

The standard formula used for calculating normalised marks is as follows:

TS ICET score normalisation

TS ICET Normalisation Calculation

Key terms in the formula include:

  • SASD: Average plus standard deviation for a specific session section.
  • GASD: Average plus standard deviation for all candidates across all sessions combined.
  • STA: Average marks of the top 0.1% of students in a specific session section.
  • GTA: Average marks of the top 0.1% of all examinees across all sessions.

TS ICET 2026 Results: Rank Determination

Once scores are normalised, ranks are assigned sequentially. The candidate with the highest adjusted score receives Rank 1, followed by the next highest for Rank 2, continuing until all qualifying candidates are ranked.

Resolving Ties in TS ICET 2026

When two candidates end up with identical normalised marks, TGCHE applies these tie-breaking rules in order:

  1. Performance in Section A is compared; the higher score gets the better rank.
  2. If still tied, Section B scores are evaluated to decide the ranking.
  3. If a tie persists, age becomes the deciding factor, with older candidates receiving the higher rank priority.

Candidates in the general category must score at least 25% to participate in counselling. There is no minimum qualifying score for reserved category candidates to be eligible for seat allotment.

TG ICET Counselling Process 2026

Candidates who secure a rank after the release of TG ICET results are marked eligible to participate in the Telangana MBA admission process. During the counselling process, candidates are required to exercise options where they need to choose a course and a college preference. Candidates who know the TS ICET rank-wise colleges have a better chance of an allotment in the first phase of the ICET counselling. The TG ICET 2026 counselling process begins with counselling registration, followed by the payment of the processing fee, and slot booking for certificate verification. Once these preliminary steps are complete, candidates must undergo in-person certificate verification before they can begin exercising options. After the allotment of seats is finalized, the process concludes with the payment of the tuition fee as mentioned in the TS ICET allotment order.

Besides the centralised counselling process, Telangana MBA colleges will also conduct category B admissions for candidates aiming for management quota. B-Category seats are legal management quota seats in private colleges of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.

Candidates who are unhappy with their ICET performance, may consider taking other national MBA exams or preparing again for next year's cycle. Gaining professional work experience during a gap year can also strengthen your profile for future business school applications. Those who wish for admission via ICET exam only, can take a drop to appear for TG ICET 2027 exam
