AIIMS Eligibility Criteria 2020 will be released along with the official admission notification in the last week of November 2019. The eligibility criteria of AIIMS 2020 sets the basic minimum requirements that a candidate must fulfill to seek admission in the most premier institute of medical sciences in India. Candidates aspiring to appear for AIIMS 2020 are advised to go through the eligibility criteria of AIIMS MBBS before registering for the examination. This is due to the fact that if a candidate is found unqualified at any stage, his/her admission will be cancelled by the Institute. The AIIMS eligibility criteria 2020 will include parameters such as the age of the candidate, the minimum qualification required and aggregate needed in the qualifying examination. AIIMS Eligibility Criteria 2020: Age Limit

  • Candidate must be at least 17 years old as on December 31, 2020.
  • Those born on or after January 2, 2004, are not eligible to apply.

Number of attempts permitted

  • AIIMS Delhi has not put a cap on the number of attempts permitted for AIIMS exam.
  • Candidate can appear for the AIIMS exam as many times as he/she needs to clear it.

Minimum qualification required to fulfill the AIIMS Eligibility Criteria 2020

  • Candidate should have passed 10+2 or equivalent from CBSE/ CISCE / recognized University/ Board of any Indian State with English, Physics, Chemistry and Biology as core subjects.
  • Candidates who have passed 10+2 or equivalent with Biology as an additional subject are also eligible.
  • Candidates who are appearing for the qualifying examination with English, Physics, Chemistry and Biology as the main subjects are also eligible. However, the candidature will be considered only if they pass the qualifying examination and provide the required documentary evidence.
  • Indian Nationals who have completed their formal education from a foreign institute or University have to get a certificate from the equivalent Indian university/Association of Indian Universities stating that the examination passed by him/her is considered to be equivalent to the 12th class under 10+2 scheme.

Minimum marks required in the qualifying examination to fulfill the Eligibility Criteria of AIIMS 2020

The eligibility criteria of AIIMS 2020 specifies the minimum aggregate of the marks in English, Physics, Chemistry and Biology that one must obtain in the qualifying examination to be able to appear for AIIMS exam.

Eligibility Criteria of AIIMS for OCI/ NRI/ PIO

  • Overseas Citizens of India (OCIs), Non-Resident Indians (NRIs), Persons of Indian Origin (PIOs) and Foreign Nationals are also eligible to apply for AIIMS exam 2020.

For OCI and NRIs:

  • OCI candidates who wish to appear for the AIIMS exam should be registered under Section 7A of Citizenship Act 1955
  • They also need to submit proof of registration as an OCI under Section 7A.
  • NRIs are also eligible to appear for the entrance test.
  • Such candidates must also fulfill the AIIMS eligibility criteria applicable to the Indian Nationals.

For Foreign Nationals:

  • AIIMS Delhi offers 7 seats for foreign nationals.
  • To seek admission into these seats, a candidate must be nominated by the Government of India and must have obtained a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate in English, Physics, Chemistry and Biology in 10+2 or equivalent.
  • Foreign candidates have to contact the Indian Mission/Post abroad in their country and the Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India, New Delhi for the nomination.
  • Admission to foreign nationals will not be granted on the basis of the AIIMS exam.

Yes, AIIMS released the Round 2 Seat Allotment result 2026 on August 22. The candidates can check their results and check the allotted seat. The seat acceptance facility was available from August 24 to 29.

NEET is acceptable in AIIMS and other popular government, private and state level colleges.

If your goal is only AIIMS, then passing AIIMS paramedic is better but if a candidate wants to increase their chances of getting into a good college it would be smart to appear for the NEET examination.
