Documents required to fill CLAT Application Form 2027

Candidates should ensure they have all the required things before they begin to fill the application form. Students need qualifying documents as well as an email ID/ mobile number. Aspirants are advised to check complete list of documents required to fill CLAT Application Form below:

  • A working email ID and mobile number
  • Class 10 and 12 mark sheets
  • LLB/ equivalent mark sheets and certificates (for LLM courses only)
  • ID and address proof (Aadhaar Card/Driving License/PAN Card, etc.)

Q:   Is a Domicile Certificate compulsory for filling out the CLAT application form?
A: 

No, a domicile certificate is not mandatory for all candidates. It is only required if you intend to claim a reservation/ seat under state quota (offered by specific NLUs). Students can skip this document if they are applying solely under the All-India open category.

Q:   Which ID proofs are accepted during the CLAT registration process?
A: 

The Consortium accepts any official, government-issued photo identification card. Commonly accepted documents include:

Q:   How much old photo can I upload in CLAT application form 2027?
A: 

An old photograph should not be uploaded under any circumstances. Students must upload a current passport size colored photograph (ideally taken within last three months) with a clean white/light-colored background. An old photograph could create problems for you at the time of entering the examination hall.

  • Candidates should clear Class 12 with a minimum 45 per cent aggregate (applicable for candidates belonging to General/ Other Backward Class (OBC)/ Person with Disability (PwD)/ Non-Resident Indian (NRI)/ Person of Indian Origin (PIO)/ Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) category)
  • Candidates should clear Class 12 with a minimum 40 per cent aggregate (applicable for candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste (SC)/ Scheduled Tribe (ST) category)
  • Candidates appearing for their Class 12 board examinations in March/April are also eligible to apply for CLAT 2027 exam. However, such candidates need to produce proof of passing Class 12 or equivalent exam at the time of admission. Candidates unable to produce the evidence shall forfeit their right of admission through CLAT exam

Q:   Can I fill CLAT Application Form offline?
A: 

No, there is no such provision given by the Consortium to fill out the application form offline. Candidates must complete filling the CLAT Application Form 2027 on or before the last date. You can only fill out the application form online. The form will be considered submitted only if you pay the fees.

Q:   Can I submit the CLAT Application Form without paying the application fee?
A: 

No, your form will not be considered valid if you submit it without paying the application fee. The application fee is mandatory. Candidates can pay it online only.

Q:   Can I fill the CLAT application form if my Class 12 results have not been declared yet?
A: 

Yes. Candidates who are currently in their final year of Class 12 or awaiting results are fully eligible to apply.

A: 

Even with all the right documents, if you have not paid the application fee, your application form will be rejected. Since the application process cannot complete without submiting the fees. Once the window closes you won't be able to pay the fees or re fill the form. 

Q:   Are CLAT application fees refundable if I decide not to appear for the exam?
A: 

No. The CLAT application and registration fees are strictly non-refundable under any circumstances.

Q:   Can I pay CLAT application fee offline?
A: 

Candidates cannot pay the CLAT application fee offline. The Consortium of National Law Universities requires all fee payments to be made strictly through online modes on their official portal.

CLAT 2027 Application Correction Window

The Consortium of NLUs will open the CLAT Application Correction Window 2027 once the registration process is over. This will help candidates to edit their application form in case they have made any errors or want to change some details. Candidates can follow the steps to edit the CLAT application 2027 as under

  1. Click on the CLAT 2027 application correction link
  2. Log in using mobile number and password
  3. Click on the Edit Application button
  4. Go to 'Category and Seat Reservation' for NLU preferences, as well as the Personal details tab for OBC category status, whether Non-Creamy Layer or Creamy Layer
  5. Make the required changes, click on the Next button
  6. Click on the declaration checkbox and Save to submit the changes

No. The initial choice of the National Law Universities for joining cannot be changed after the registration period. The correction period only allows the editing of personal details, academic details, examination centre, and document-related information.

The CLAT 2027 UG syllabus includes five subjects: English Language, Current Affairs & GK, Legal Reasoning, Logical Reasoning, and Quantitative Techniques. The exam will be for 120 MCQs. Candidates will get 2 hours to complete the exam.

With this candidates will be able to register for seat allotment in National Law Universities (NLUs) for UG and PG programs.

The CLAT exam for both the undergraduate and postgraduate courses will be conducted for 2-hour; i.e. 2 pm to 4 pm. Candidates must note that the exam will be conducted in offline mode. There will be 120 MCQs. Total number of sections in the question paper will be five.

No, the CLAT Scorecard will not be sent by post. The only way to get the scorecard is to download it online. Candidates can visit CLAT portal; i.e. consortiumofnlus.ac.in. Enter their login ID and password. The CLAT Result will appear on their screen.
