The Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) is conducted for admission to 25 NLUs across the country. The Consortium of NLUs will begin the CLAT Application Process 2027 on August 1, 2026. The CLAT Notification will be published in July. It will carry all important details like exam date, syllabus, application process, etc. Candidates who want to appear for the CLAT Exam must fill the application form on or before the last date.

The CLAT 2027 Exam Date is 06-Dec-2026. Candidates must note that this is the most important step to appear in the CLAT Exam. CLAT 2027 Eligibility Criteria

Before filling the CLAT Application Form 2027 it is very important to understand the CLAT Eligibility Criteria. The eligibility for the CLAT UG and PG is different. Read further to know more:

For Undergraduate (UG) - 5-Year Integrated LLB

  • Must have passed Class 12 or be appearing in 2027.
  • General/OBC/PwD/NRI/PIO/OCI: Minimum 45% marks
  • SC/ST: Minimum 40% marks

For Postgraduate (PG) - 1-Year LLM

  • Must have completed or be in the final year of an LLB degree (3-year or 5-year).
  • General/OBC/PwD/NRI/PIO/OCI: Minimum 50% marks
  • SC/ST: Minimum 45% mark

Q:   What is the last date to fill CLAT Application Form 2027?
A: 

The Consortium has not announced the last date to submit the CLAT Application Form yet. However, once the application process starts it mostly remain opens for three months. This gives candidates sufficient time to complete it and submit. 

Q:   If I forget my CLAT Login ID or password. How should I fill the application form?
A: 

You don't have to worry. In case you have forgotten your ID and password, which is pretty much normal. You can go and click on the forgot password tab in the registration window. You will receive the mail and then you have to reset your password. Once day you will be able to login. 

Q:   Can I fill CLAT Application Form through mobile phone?
A: 

See, it doesn't matter that you fill the form through laptop or phone. What matters is you fill the form. Yes, you should have good network connection and internet speed. It should not happen that you have filled the form and when you reach the last step you loose the connection. So what is important is network connection not the phone or laptop to fill the application form. 

CLAT 2027: Age Limit

The consortium does not provide the age limit criteria to fill out the CLAT application form. The eligible candidates can appear for the exam after filling out the application form. The candidates must know the CLAT Application Dates to fill the form before the deadline.

Q:   I forgot to submit CLAT Application Fees. What should I do?
A: 

Even with all the right documents, if you have not paid the application fee, your application form will be rejected. Since the application process cannot complete without submiting the fees. Once the window closes you won't be able to pay the fees or re fill the form. 

Q:   Can I fill CLAT Application Form offline?
A: 

No, there is no such provision given by the Consortium to fill out the application form offline. Candidates must complete filling the CLAT Application Form 2027 on or before the last date. You can only fill out the application form online. The form will be considered submitted only if you pay the fees.

Q:   When CLAT Merit List will be released?
A: 

The Consortium has released the CLAT Counselling Schedule. The CLAT First Merit List was released on January 7, 2026. The Consortium will release five round merit list. The second merit list was published on January22, 2026.

Documents Required to Fill CLAT 2026 Application Form

Before filling out the CLAT form, keep the following documents ready:

  • Passport-size photograph (Recent, clear – JPEG format, up to 500 KB)
  • Signature (Black/blue ink on white paper – JPEG format)
  • Class 10 mark sheet
  • Class 12 mark sheet (If passed)
  • LLB mark sheet (for PG applicants)
  • Category certificate (SC/ST/OBC/EWS/PwD – if applicable)
  • Domicile certificate (if applying under state quota)
  • BPL certificate (for BPL category applicants)
  • Valid Photo ID proof (Aadhaar, Passport, PAN, Voter ID, etc.)

CLAT Application Fee 2027

Candidates must note that their application form will not be considered submitted unless they pay the CLAT Form Fees 2027. Check the category-wise fee structure below:

  • General/OBC/PwD/NRI: INR 4,000
  • SC/ST/BPL: INR 3,500

An additional INR 500 will be charged if opting to purchase previous years' question papers. The candidates will be able to pay the application fee through Debit/Credit Card, Net Banking, and UPI.

How to Fill CLAT 2027 Application Form?

  • Go to the official website; i.e. consortiumofnlus.ac.in
  • Click on "CLAT 2027" and select "Register."
  • Enter your name, mobile number, email, and password
  • Verify via OTP sent to your mobile
  • Log in using credentials
  • Fill in personal, academic, and communication details
  • Upload a photo, a signature, and documents
  • Choose NLU preferences and test centre
  • Pay the application fee online
  • Submit and download the confirmation page for future reference

How to Download CLAT 2027 Admit Card

Candidates who successfully register for the exam will be able to access their CLAT Hall Ticket by following the steps given below,

  • Go to consortiumofnlus.ac.in
  • Login using your mobile number and password
  • Click on "Download Admit Card"
  • Save and print the admit card for exam day

Note: The admit card will mention the exam date, test centre address, reporting time, and exam-day instructions.

Documents Required for CLAT 2027 Admission Process

After qualifying the exam, the following documents will be needed for CLAT counselling and admission:

  • CLAT 2027 Admit Card
  • CLAT 2027 Scorecard
  • 10th and 12th mark sheets (original + photocopy)
  • LLB degree certificate/mark sheet (for PG applicants)
  • Transfer/Character Certificate
  • Caste/Category Certificate (SC/ST/OBC/EWS/PwD)
  • Domicile Certificate (for state quota)

Many students feel the AILET exam is a bit tougher than CLAT because it has fewer seats and high competition. The AILET syllabus focuses more on reasoning and legal aptitude. Both tests need good preparation, but AILET 2027 usually has a higher cutoff for AILET colleges under NLU Delhi.
