The Staff Selection Commission released the SSC CGL notification on June 9, 2025. The Commission mentioned the total number of vacancies for the SSC CGL 2025 exam. The Commission did not mention the number of vacancies for each post separately. The Commission will mention the category-wise SSC CGL 2025 vacancies against each post with the salary level associated with the post. As per the media reports, there will be over 10,000 vacancies in the SSC CGL 2025 exam.

SSC CGL 2025 Post List and Preference: The Staff Selection Commission is expected to release the SSC CGL posts and vacancy list 2025 PDF on its official website - ssc.gov.in. The Commission releases the Combined Graduate Level (CGL) vacancy list PDF separately to mention the category-wise breakup of the SSC CGL 2025 vacancies.

The SSC CGL post list 2025 will mention the number of vacancies associated with each post. The candidates should note that before the final result, the Staff Selection Commission will release the SSC CGL post preference form, where the candidates will be required to fill out the service preferences for the final selection. The Commission will release the SSC CGL notification 2025 on June 9, 2025. The candidates should note that the Commission will mention the vacancies against each post. SSC CGL vacancies are announced for categories such as Unreserved (your), Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST), Other Backward Class (OBC), Ex-Servicemen (ESM), Persons with Disabilities (PwD), etc. Staff Selection Commission is the central recruitment agency. The minimum educational requirement for these SSC CGL posts is a Bachelor’s degree from a recognised university or institution.

Desired Qualification

Chartered Accountant or Cost & Management Accountant or Company Secretary or Masters in Commerce or Masters in Business Studies or Masters in Business Administration (Finance) or Masters in Business Economics.

Mandatory Part:

During the period of probation direct recruits shall have to qualify for the “Subordinate Audit/ Accounts Service Examination” in respective branches for confirmation and regular appointment as Assistant Audit Officer/Assistant Accounts Officer.

House Rent Allowance

The Central government revised the House Rent Allowance provided for the SSC CGL Posts. HRA is provided to employees to meet their house rental needs. The HRA given to candidates varies as per the city in which they are posted and is broadly divided into three categories:

The Central Government revised the HRA given to Central Government Employees on December 30, 2022. The government mentioned that the above HRA rates will stand revised to 27%, 18% and 9% when the DA crosses 25% in the above cities and further revised to 30 %, 20% and 10 % when the DA crosses 50%. DA or Dearness Allowance is a cost of living adjustment allowance and is presently 55 per cent of the basic pay.
