Infrastructure: Department of economics provides many services to her students like Wi-Fi, common rooms for study, annual sports and university provide best medical facilities for the students, free medicine and free checkup for the students. The capacity of the classroom is more than 100 students. The whole campus is Wi-Fi enabled and eco-friendly.

About Banaras Hindu University.
Placements: There is no campus placement available for the student of MA economics because the placement cell committee does not provide any other type of internship for the student. In the campus, the main issue is castism. The classes are regularly run on time.
Infrastructure: Banaras Hindu University has two campuses, four affiliated colleges, 4 institute and many faculty members and many departments. The main campus is Varanasi, and the south campus is in Barkchha. A vast library is available in the main campus known as the central library. The whole campus is fully Wi-Fi enabled.
Faculty: The departments include the faculty of social science, faculty of arts, faculty of science, faculty of law, faculty of Sanskrit vidya dharam and the institute of agricultural science. Indian Institute of Technology, Law Mahavidyalaya are the other major departments. On the campus, an airstrip is available for the NCC cadets.
Other: Many scholarships are available for students, but two main scholarships are UP government scholarship and UGC scholarship.

It is a disappointment.
Placements: Literally, no one is placed here anywhere. Last year, the highest package offered is 6 LPA. The placement cell is there, but just for the namesake, it doesn't work. The placement at IIT BHU is way higher. In a nutshell, there is no placement culture here in the Department of Economics yet. Guys who are interested more in research and policy-making come here.
Infrastructure: You get a century-old structure there. The food quality is worse, every day you get potatoes for sure in your dish. Though the outside of the room has green surroundings, but the hygiene issue is there. This also goes for the hostel mess even, cooks there don't follow proper hygiene care, and everywhere around the mess there is always a bad smell coming. There is also a lift for the disabled to go upstairs. The auditorium and the seminar room are big enough. But yes, the sound system and the video system always create problems in almost every event.
Faculty: There is no other information source other than the website, which works at god's mercy. Some professors are too good, while the majority have low knowledge, they are inexperienced, and don't know English well. The course curriculum lacks hands-on skills education, they just teach you theories.
Other: If you cannot afford a good college, do come here. The campus is much bigger and full of greenery, and this is the only positive I find here.

Fully satisfied with teachers and having an amazing campus life, but placements are not very good.
Placements: The placements of the economics department are not very good. A very few companies come to hire the candidate, and they offer a very low pay out, and out of hundreds of students, they only select two or three students. University neither take any responsibility, nor try to suggest any job to rest of the students.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of Banaras Hindu University is amazing. Every department has their own library, and a central library is there where students from any department can visit and read or issue a book. It also has a vast playground, and at every corner, you will find constables sitting for the security purpose.
Faculty: BHU has a great ambience. The teachers there are very helpful and has a great knowledge of their subjects. They often conduct an extra class for students who find difficulty in studying maths and econometrics. They finish their syllabus timely before semester exams and also give advice related to career.
Other: In BHU, we celebrate 5 days cultural fest every year which is called Spandan. Here the students display their creative side in music, in several forms of dance, drama, literature, fine arts, quiz competition and many more other things.

Faculty of Arts, Banaras Hindu University. A better alternative.
Placements: I have done my Bachelor of Arts from Banaras Hindu University and now dream of a master of arts in economics. In terms of placements, my college was not identified as good, but placements do occur. On-campus placements are not so frequent, but the value of the degree is recognised as good as compared to other colleges in India.
Infrastructure: The buildings are very old but are well equipped with all the facilities. Classrooms and big, and the campus is Wi-Fi enabled. Labs are well equipped with all machinery and facilities. Hostel facilities for boys and girls are available on the campus with mess and canteen.
Faculty: Faculty of Arts has some of the brilliant professors in the field of Economics. The course curriculum is designed to cover all the aspects of Economics. You will find this college better than any college for economics in India, and this is the reason why students from all over the country come here to study economics.
Other: Apart from studies, the university provides all the facilities for personal development of the students. University provides opportunities in different hobby courses, swimming courses, dancing, singing, instruments playing, etc. Besides this, the university also has the green environment.

Q:   Which is better for MA in Urdu- JNU or BHU?
A:
Both Jawaharlal Nehru University and Banaras Hindu University are top central universities in India. Both have their advantages. Below mentioned are some of the distinct observations about both JNU and BHU: 1. You must have over 50% in your bachelor's degree to apply to BHU, whereas you can apply to JNU with 45%. 2. BHU has more seats for the MA in Urdu course than the JNU. 3. JNU's master programme is less expensive than BHU's. You can do a master's course at JNU for less than INR 1,000. 4. Job opportunities with a master's degree in Urdu from JNU are comparably greater than those with a master's degree in Urdu from BHU.

Q:   Are all BHU courses offered through CUET only?
A:

Admission to most of the BHU UG and PG courses is through CUET score. However, for some courses such as PhD, MFA, etc. the university has a separate admission criteria. Candidates must check the admission requirement for the preferred course before applying for admission.

Q:   What is the hostel fee at BHU, including mess charge and everything?
A:
The hostel fee structure for BHU is INR 3,000 - INR 4,000 per semester depending upon the degree. The hostel fee does not include mess charges. Banaras Hindu University is spread across a 1,300-acre campus. There are 41 hostels for boys and 21 for girls. Additionally, there is separate accommodation for international students. All the hostels have basic amenities like water purifiers, a common room, recreation room, mess, TV, laundry services, security and surveillance system, etc.
Q:   What is the minimum marks required for BHU in CUET?
A:

BHU admission 2025 to the undergraduate courses is based on CUET UG scores. BHU merit list 2025 for CUET UG has been released. As per the BHU cutoff 2025, the minimum CUET UG cutoff score was 94 for B.Ed. in Special Education (Visual Impaired - Social Science and Humanities), followed by 191 for B.Ed. in Mathematics. Therefore, according to the BHU Round 4 Seat Allotment result, the minimum cutoff score stood at 94 for the General AI quota. Please note that the minimum required cutoff score for admission varies for different rounds and categories.

Talking about the BHU maximum cutoff score for 2025, B.Sc. (Hons) in Medical Radiology and Imaging Technology became the most competitive course with a cutoff score of 628.46 for the students belonging to the General AI quota.
