I am dissatisfied because of faculty, bad placements and infrastructure.
Placements: Due to the Coronavirus outbreak, this year we had no placements. Every year the status of placement is not so good. The highest salary offered is only Rs. 20,000 per month and the average salary offered is Rs. 15,000 per month. A top recruiting company that visit our college for placements is Zee News. The college doesn't use to help in getting an internship. It just provided NOC after availing that the students had to struggle by themselves for getting an internship. The college administration does not help students to get an internship. The only role offered to the student is a journalist trainee.
Infrastructure: Classrooms are good, but many professors were not taking a class as per schedule. Only a few teachers are vigilant who took regular classes. There are no sufficient computers in the computer lab, and some computers are not even in working condition. The library is good. I don't use to live in a hostel.
Faculty: The course curriculum is outdated. Some teachers in our college are good, qualified, knowledgeable and helpful. The course curriculum is totally theoretical. The proportion of practical was very less. There is more work needed to be done on the curriculum as it was not sufficient to make the students industry-ready.
Other: I have chosen this course as I aspire to become a TV journalist. The best thing about our course is it enhances the real personality, develop your communication skills and gives you the broader view of seeing the things. The thing which needs to be improved is to include new things, exclude the theoretical part and include a more practical part in the course. The campus, events, connectivity and surroundings were amazing here. Being a general category, I don't get a scholarship, so I don't have any idea about it. Extracurricular activities part needs to be done more.

Review of BHU - Banaras Hindu University.
Placements: Placements in our college were not that good. Only a few students, i.e., 1 or 2, got placed, and the rest of the students did not have a job after passing out from the college. The placement cell did not play its role actively. The placement coordinators showed the least interest in placement activities.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of our college was not that good. As we were in the mass communication department, we required a lot of technical facilities like cameras, tripods and other equipment. But unfortunately, we were devoid of all these facilities. The departmental library wasn't functional.
Faculty: The course curriculum was good, but unfortunately, the faculty members weren't capable enough to cope up with the curriculum. However, there were a few faculty who were exceptionally qualified. Some of them had the subject knowledge but were not able to transfer it to the students. Some were involved in politics.
Other: No events, quiz and scholarship programmes were conducted in the college.

The department will help, but you are responsible for yourself.
Placements: In a class of 45 students, usually, 15-20 students get placed. Yet again, this figure only depends on the overall performance of a student. As far as the support of teaching staff is concerned, they are not that much supportive when it comes to placement.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure isn't as good as compared to other mass communication colleges, but in coming years, there will be a well-equipped production room, as the work for that room has been started. The department has their own fully equipped editing room, camera, computers, printing machine. Especially, for radio journalism, the infrastructure is zero.
Faculty: The faculty of the department are awesome, especially if you are interested in film study. One can get a collection of classic movies here, and there will be full discussions over it. As far as the content thing is concerned again, the department has a proper team of teachers who take care of it. If one is interested in PR course, frankly this department isn't your destination. The course curriculum of the department is really well structured. It gives full independence to know mass communication from every perspective. In the second year, it allows one to choose from respective fields in which one wants to continue as it's specialisation.
Other: Every year, the department provides opportunities to the students to organise many events in the field of journalism.
