Satisfied with teachers and placement.
Placements: Students opting for this course are about 20%. Students of this course got highest salary package of 10 LPA and lowest salary package of 5 LPA. Top recruiting companies are Zoos, Wildlife parks, environmental agencies, research institutions, and conservation organizations. 50% of students got internships in these companies. Top roles offered are study of animals, their behavior, physiology, and interactions with their environment.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure of the college is well planned and developed. Whole campus is covered with Wi-Fi, and classrooms have SMART boards. Labs are updated with latest technology computers and have an Apple lab. Food available in mess and canteen is freshly prepared and delivered well-packed. Campus also has medical facilities and organizes an annual sports meet.
Faculty: Teachers are also disciplined because they are regular in lectures and always teach with sincerity. Teaching quality is excellent. Curriculum is relevant and makes students ready for industrial work. Semester exams are average, and passing criteria are to score 40% marks in each subject.
Other: I have joined this course because I have a great interest in animals, environment, and their interaction. This course will improve my thinking and understanding. Campus organises events such as Carbuncle, Maestros, and other cultural events. Students are also sponsored with a scholarship according to their marks in 12th standard.

My experience at Chandigarh University.
Placements: Top companies like Wipro, HP, Infosys, Lenovo, etc., visit the university every year to recruit students. Each year, approximately 80 percent of university students are placed. There are also some opportunities for internships for students. The highest package at the university is 32 lacs per annum.
Infrastructure: Chandigarh University is located in a very peaceful place. All the necessary facilities, like well-furnished classrooms, well-equipped labs, libraries, etc., are available. The rooms of the hostel are well-furnished and have enough space. They maintain proper hygiene and neatness in the hostel.
Faculty: All the teachers are so kind and sweet. The course curriculum really helps students crack the placements. The teaching method used here is simple and easy. Teachers always make sure that no one has any ought. Semester exams are not too difficult. Around 80 to 90 percent of students pass them easily.

Review of Chandigarh University (CU).
Placements: Only 5-6% of students got campus placements. The package offered ranges from 2-3 LPA. All students of the course are required to undergo a mandatory 45-day internship. The courses offered are zoologist, entomologist, nematologist, and microbiologist.
Infrastructure: Classrooms have AC. Phones are not allowed inside the class. The library has all sorts of books related to coursework as well as others like novels, magazines, newspapers, etc. The library provides free Wi-Fi. The hostel has 4-sharing rooms for Indians. The hostel food is good.
Faculty: Teachers are quite helpful. Whenever we have any doubts, teachers are always there to help us. Before the 3rd semester began, we went for an internship, which helped us develop our skills. There is also a mandatory dissertation program where we did a small research program.

It was not a good experience studying the M.Sc. Zoology course at Chandigarh University.
Placements: Not a single student was placed in this course. The companies that came for placements were mostly tech companies, and as a zoology student, it was difficult to crack the interviews. Moreover, we were competing with engineering and MBA students, so they got the maximum placements. There were no internships provided for this course. We did a summer training program on our own.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure was not so good. Wifi is not available for students; labs are not well built; there is a shortage of chemicals; classrooms were okay; but in the library, there are very few books for the course. And the majority of the time, books weren't even available. Hostel facilities were also not so good; the food in the hostel was mostly tasteless, and the medical facilities were okay. Sports and games facilities were there.
Faculty: All teachers have PhDs, but not all teachers can make us understand topics. Teaching quality was average. Mostly, you have to study on your own. They only give PowerPoint presentations in class but do not go into depth on concepts. The curriculum is more or less relevant, but a few important topics or chapters are missing from the CSIR NET perspective. This course doesn't make students industry-ready. Semester exams were average. If you study, you can easily get good marks. The pass percentage is above 90%.
Other: I chose this course because of my interest in animals. I had done a B.Sc. in zoology, so an M.Sc. in zoology was a good option. This course provides information about various interesting things like cell biology, cancer biology, immunology, biochemistry, ecology, and animal behavior, which are important aspects of our lives. The labs could have been better, as if we go for higher studies like a PhD, practical knowledge is a must. There were various events (fests, campus crowds, etc.) conducted. There were scholarship exams before admission; if you get desirable marks, you will get some fee relaxation.
