B.Tech. in Chemical Engineering - Batch of 2029

Students can prefer DTU if they are not getting into IIT.
Placements: In the chemical course, almost 50 percent of the total students get placed. However, the total registered students are 70 percent of the total strength of my branch. In B.Tech, around 80 percent of students get placed with an average package that ranges from 15-17 LPA. The highest domestic package offered is 85 LPA and 1.8 crores internationally. Top recruiting companies like Amazon, Flipkart, Google, Bain & Company, BCG, and Deloitte hire students from the college.
Infrastructure: Girls' hostel is amazing. The newly made hostel is fully AC, and the old ones are non-AC. The new one is an 11-storey building with high-class infrastructure. Wi-Fi, labs, classrooms are top-class. All classrooms are air-conditioned. The library is one of the most beautiful parts of the campus with a lavish 3-storey building. The mess quality is decent, and the food is made hygienically.
Faculty: Teachers here are good and highly qualified. Most of them are qualified from IIT. They teach on whiteboards rather than using presentations. The course curriculum makes us ready for the chemical core, but the job market in chemistry in India is not up to that mark. Semester exams are generally medium as we have cracked JEE, so it is slightly easier for us.

DTU is one of the best engineering colleges in the nation.
Placements: Almost 60-70% students are placed in my batch, while the overall percentage of the batch is 85-90%, everyone who studies decently gets placed easily here. The highest package may go upto 85 LPA domestic, and the average is around 16-17 LPA. Google and Amazon are major recruiting companies.
Infrastructure: The classrooms are fully air-conditioned, and the labs are first class, it has all the instruments for experiments here. The quality of mess food is decent, and all the hostel buildings are decent, while some are very huge and beautiful. Not all the boys' hostels are actually air-conditioned, but APJ Abdul Kalam one is air-conditioned. The sports complex is huge, 17 acres, and the facilities are awesome.
Faculty: The teachers are highly qualified and supportive, while some of them might be arrogant, especially in the electrical department. The curriculum is somewhat outdated, and many students prepare for placement on their own. The semester exams are decently tough, you would have to study for 2 weeks beforehand in order to get a good CGPA.
Other: There are many events and fests going on in the campus throughout the year, like Engifest, Aahvaan, Invictus, yuvaan and many more small events.

Delhi Technological University and life here.
Placements: Placements are good with almost 90 percent of students getting placed. Top companies come for placements like Google, Microsoft, Apple, Texas Instruments and others offer huge placements for top students and it can even go up to 80 LPA. Average placements are like 17 LPA.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure is top notch like a IIT or NIT. We have two open air theatre namely OAT and mini OAT, faculty blocks, Academic Blocks, Hostels, and Sports Complex. We have 9 boys hostels and 3 girls hostels, with two AC hostels for both boys and girls.
Faculty: Faculty are good and well educated. They are mostly Ph.D. holders and have immense knowledge in their fields, although some professors might not be able to teach well but most of the faculty do teach well and respond to our doubts. They are very good and help us at every moment.

Satisfied completely because of the great opportunities.
Placements: The overall placement percentage for chemical engineering was 68%. The highest package offered was 16 LPA, and the lowest is 4.5 LPA. Some students may go for higher studies or preparation for government exams. Students who sit in the placements and have worked get the job.
Infrastructure: The labs, classrooms, Wi-Fi, etc, are of top-quality and are quite good and have all the facilities. The mess is cleaned, and a quality check takes place 2 times a week. The hostels are equipped with Wi-Fi, they have badminton and table tennis courts, and many more.
Faculty: Teachers are highly qualified in their own department. Most of the teachers have a PhD degree, or they are pursuing Ph.D. degree. They have great knowledge of their subjects, and some of the teachers can deliver their knowledge to the students, while others do not.
Other: I chose this course because I had an interest in Science. The best thing about this course especially in this college, is that the placements are really good, and you would get placed if you know. The course curriculum can be improved by removing outdated material. Regular events happen in this college; the campus is huge, and events are a regular part. The campus crowd is mostly the Delhi crowd, so it is good. Fest in this college is one of the greatest fests of the country, the Engi Fest. There is a lot to do in this college.

If your CG is good then you are good.
Placements: I am 2nd year student by asking our seniors. The placement is very low right now. But after two years placement should be good and the CG you have to maintain. All matter is CG. If your CG is good then you get easily placed. Everybody knows right now tech branches are killing but if you are good at mathematics choose mathematics and computing engineering.
Infrastructure: 1st year students' hostel is the worst. I suggest taking PG, and per month Rs 2,000 - Rs 3,000 difference. When you come in 2nd year fill hostel form and hostel food is the worst part you have to adjust. In college, there is Wi-Fi but it is just a Wi-Fi without network.
Faculty: Teachers are good but no one attends lectures so you have to study on your own. You have to study not daily not weekly just one or two weeks before exams. Core subject makes you industry-ready but you have to prepare yourself for teaching. I suggest joining tech society and participating in a hackathon.
Other: DTU is known for its fest. Every month have small fests and 3 big fests.

Why is DTU better than NSUT.
Placements: Approximately 60% of students in chemical engineering get placed, while the remaining 40% pursue higher studies. Many students secure placements through the GATE exam. Non-teaching job roles are primarily offered to chemical engineering students. Internships in the 1st and 2nd years are rare, but from the 3rd year onwards, many students apply for opportunities at DRDO, Tata Chemicals, ISRO, etc.
Infrastructure: Classrooms for chemical engineering are decent and similar to school classrooms. They are not very advanced but are suitable for students. Wi-Fi facility are available in classrooms, but students rarely use it. The college has a large library, which I believe is the best feature of my college. There are multiple canteens, good sports facilities, and a medical center on campus. However, hostel facilities for first-year students are not very good.
Faculty: The teaching faculty members are the USP of our college. They are always ready to help us. Faculty members are very cooperative, understand students' problems, and always supports them. Semester exams are quite easy, and students can ace them by studying one week in advance. The exam pass percentage is 100%.
Other: I love chemical engineering, which is why I choose this branch. There are many societies in our college where students with the same mindset meet and engage in brainstorming activities. One of Delhi's biggest fests, Engifest, is organized by our college.

Campus life and fests- everything is magnificent. Exams are not a big deal.
Placements: For the batch that is passing this year, the average package is around 10-11 LPA, while the highest package is around 30 LPA. 73 students had registered, out of which 49 are placed as of now. The overall placement market is down this year if we compare it with previous year records.
Infrastructure: The old SPS building is given for classes. It has nice air conditioning but old-fashioned furniture. The library is a good place for study on the campus; it's chilled and silent. Wi-Fi speed is very slow, whether it is in the hostel or library. Hostel rooms for first-years are basically 2BHK flats in which 5 people are living. The hostel rooms are old, equipped only with fans and lights. You might face problems like blockage in the bathroom and will also find it difficult to survive summers if you are living on the top floor. Mess food quality will improve once the student council is selected.
Faculty: Professors will be doing their jobs wonderfully, and those lectures will be enough for the exams. But when Ph.D. scholars come to take classes, the explanation part is not up to the mark. For first-years, it is a similar course for all branches and has nothing to do with the industry. Only a practical course will teach you something related to industry work. If you start studying a week before exams, you will easily pass with good grades.
Other: Chemical Engineering is best for those people whose end goal is not engineering. You will get free time to prepare for any other competition or exam or learn skills, and it will not compromise your grades. With decent placement in the department, you will also have a backup option ready. As far as campus life is concerned, it is wonderful. You will have a fest every month. A huge crowd and great artists will come to every fest. The only problem with campus life is that the lockdown time for girls is 11 PM.

Why do I choose DTU CHE over CE or ME?
Placements: The chemical branch is better than CE and ME in terms of job opportunities as well as toughness. But it is not better than EE. The highest package of CHE is 85 LPA, the lowest is 14 LPA, and the average is 23 LPA. The top roles offered are generally web designers, etc., and coding-related stuff.
Infrastructure: The DTU campus is huge and full of facilities. The entire campus, including the hostel, is fully Acified and Wified. We also have a library that is open for 24 hours a day. And there are also night canteens called Mic Mac and Nescafe that are open the whole night. But girls cannot come outside of their hostel after 11 p.m. But boys can freely rent movies out of hostels.
Faculty: The teachers here are well qualified and down to earth. They taught us very well and gave us industry-related problems with real-life examples. And it's quite easy to pass every semester in CHE. Because here, we can easily bunk classes without any punishment. The pass percentage of CHE is 70–80%.

If you belong to general category then you cannot get B.Tech chemical engineering in DTU with 134560 rank in JEE Mains 2025. If you are from OBC, SC, ST category, then you can definitely get admission.

Well, most of the chemical engineering branch has been placed in its industry and for the analyst roles only, and thanks to that, the average is 12LPA. If you are particularly determined for the chemical roles then some PSUs also come for placements and they offer a Grade E2 job which is around 16LP
