Panjab University Chandigarh BTech is a UG level programme, offered in full-time mode. The University offers BTech in various specialisations such as Chemical Engineering, CSE, Food Technology, Mechanical Engineering, EEE and many others. Admission to any of the specialisations is offered based on merit and entrance. Therefore, candidates must qualify Class 12 with a minimum aggregate of 50% and secure valid scores in accepted entrance exams such as JEE Main, JAC Chandigarh, PSEB 12 etc.. The fee structure of BTech contains tuition fees ranging from INR 92.5 K to INR 6.2 Lakh. For the total course fees, candidates must enquire about the hostel fees, one-time payment and various other components.

BTech is one of the most popular courses of the University. When it comes to placement, it has a decent record. The key highlights of Panjab University UIET (BTech/MTech) placements 2025 are presented below:

Panjab University cutoff for BE course is based on JEE Main scores. The counselling concluded after the relase of Round 5. Candidates looking forward to Panjab University admissions must have a valid score in JEE Main in order to be eligible for further process.  For a few courses, such as MA, BA, MLib, etc., admissions are completely based on merit in the last qualifying examination. The highest package offered to the Engineering batch 2025 was INR 24 LPA. On the other hand, the highest salary offered to the MBA students during Punjab University placements 2025 was also INR 24 LPA.  

UIET is ranked among the best 30 engineering colleges in India. It has a very high placement percentage with an average pay package of INR 8.72 LPA in the year 2023. UIET’s infrastructure is quite good: well-equipped classrooms, laboratories, workshops, a library, computer center, sports complex and a canteen.

Studies in Panjab University are at par with the leading Educational Institutes in our country. It was even the highest ranked Indian Institute for a while according to a survey by Times Higher education. Should have passed FA/F.Sc./ A level or equivalent examination with a minimum of 55% marks. Should have passed the Law Admission Test (LAT) with 50% passing marks and with a validity date for admission. Must have appeared in the PU Admission Test conducted by Punjab University. To be eligible for the three-year PU LLB course, a candidate must have completed graduation in any discipline from a recognised university with at least 45% aggregate marks or 40% marks for SC/ST candidates.
